A vehicular suspension arm (10) comprises an upper sheet metal stamped component (11) with a first outer face and a first inner face (19), and a first central web portion (17) with two opposites sides and first upstanding flange portions (13) at opposites sides of the first web portion, a lower sheet metal stamped component (12) with a second outer face and a second inner face (19), and a second central web portion (17) with two opposite sides and a second upstanding flange portions (13) at the opposite sides of the second web portion, the first and second inner faces (19) adapted to contact each other along a substantial portion of the first and second web portions (17), the upper and lower stamped components (11, 12) adapted to be rigidly attached to each other to create a structural I-beam section, wherein the thickness of each upstanding flange portion (13) is at least equal to the combined thickness of the first and second web portions (17).
Abstract:
A converter is provided having a converter vessel carried on a trunnion ring by a mounting system. The mounting system has six mounting elements including a plurality of mounting elements incorporating pendulum rods and one mounting element incorporating a stabilizer device. Each pendulum rod is connected at one end to the trunnion ring and at the other end to the converter vessel. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the mounting system includes three longitudinal mounting devices each having a longitudinal pendulum rod; two transverse mounting devices each having a transverse pendulum rod; and a stabilizer device having a pair of spaced stabilizer blocks connected to the trunnion ring and a pair of stabilizer elements connected to the converter vessel. The longitudinal mounting devices and the stabilizer device are located below the trunnion ring and the transverse mounting devices are located above the trunnion ring when the converter vessel is in an upright position. A statically determinate mounting of the converter vessel in the trunnion ring is thus accomplished with six mounting elements including five pendulum rods and one stabilizer device.
Abstract:
In a method of cooling a hot surface, a liquid cooling medium is atomized by a plurality of nozzles in a hollow space surrounding the surface and open towards the atmosphere. In order to ensure uniform continuous, yet just sufficient, cooling of the hot surface, with the cooling effecting with a constant temperature as possible over an extended period of time while avoiding changing thermal expansions of the hot surface, the liquid cooling medium is continuously atomized by means of unary nozzles to a fine mist having a droplet size ranging between 4 and 60 .mu.m. The mist leaves the unary nozzles at a low speed and is moved along the hot surface within the hollow space surrounding the hot surface under utilization of the natural thermal current in the hollow space.

A method of and device for applying foil to a container that has a closure over its upper surface, and especially to a bottle with a head that along with its cap is to be wrapped all the way around with a blank, especially of foil, by applying the blank around the head while leaving part of the blank to project beyond it, wrapping the sleeve-shaped extension to one side against the upper surface of the cap to create an outer cap cover, and pressing it down, especially with a resilient pad. To improve the method and device of the aforesaid type to the extent that it becomes possible to press the sleeve-shaped foil extension down over the upper surface of the cap optimally single-layered and wrinkle-free and hence to employ pre-printed foil, a flute that initially extends essentially parallel to the axis of the bottle is shaped into the sleeve-shaped extension while the latter is being wrapped and is tapered out from the lip of the bottle to the peak of the extension with the folded areas of the two sides of the section that has been shaped into the flute coming to rest essentially outside the upper surface of the cap.
