    摘要: An apparatus and method in a heterogeneous wireless communication system reconnect a Mobile Station (MS) to a previously connected cell upon occurrence of a Radio Link Failure (RLF) in a current cell when a portion of a coverage of the second cell is included in a coverage of the first cell. A Mobile Station (MS) stores system information of a first Base Station (BS) of a first cell when performing handover from the first cell to a second cell. When changed system information of the first BS is received from a second BS of the second cell, the MS updates the stored system information using the changed system information. When detecting that a connection with the second cell is lost prior to a handover from the second cell, the MS performs reconnection to the first BS using the stored system information.

    摘要: A method and an apparatus are disclosed for applying frequency layer convergence (FLC) to connected mode user equipments (UE) having no dedicated channel for a multimedia broadcast/multicast service (MBMS) service in a mobile communication system employing a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) scheme. The method and apparatus prevent uplink signaling congestion which may occur when the UEs located in non preferred frequency layers (NPL) of the MBMS service move to a preferred frequency layers (PL) when a MBMS service session starts. If the MBMS service session starts in a situation of applying the FLC, a radio network controller (RNC) notifies the UEs desiring to receive the MBMS service and located in NPLs for the MBMS service of FLC information including a PF value and a timer value, with reference to the number of the NPL UEs joining the MBMS service. The UEs performs a PF test according to the PF and timer values, thereby maintaining the degree of congestion and signal transmission load at appropriate levels.

A reference cell scrambling code or one of a plurality of additional cell scrambling codes is selected for each combination of one of a plurality of first scrambling codes (PSCs) applied to a first synchronization channel (P-SCH) and one of a plurality of second scrambling codes (SSCs) applied to a second synchronization channel (S-SCH). It is determined whether to transmit the pilot signal using the reference cell scrambling code or one of the plurality of additional cell scrambling codes. The reference cell scrambling code or the additional cell scrambling code is generated according to the determination. The pilot signal is transmitted using the generated reference cell scrambling code or the additional cell scrambling code.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for discontinuous reception (DRX) in a mobile terminal are disclosed. The discontinuous reception method includes: receiving DRX information for DRX operation based on DRX cycles having an on-duration and an off-duration; determining, when semi-persistent resources are allocated, an offset of the DRX cycles so that the time of semi-persistent resource allocation belongs to the on-duration of one DRX cycle; checking whether a packet is successfully received through the allocated semi-persistent resources; and performing, when a packet is successfully received, DRX operation according to the received DRX information and determined offset. The discontinuous reception apparatus performs discontinuous reception using the method.
