Abstract:
A moving picture signal is encoded by motion-compensated prediction using motion vectors for each motion-compensated block of the moving picture signal. The motion vectors are arranged into motion vector groups for each predetermined number of motion vectors. A code table is selected among a plurality of code tables for each motion vector group for encoding the motion vectors. Code table selection information is then output. The motion vectors is encoded by variable-length coding using the selected code table in accordance with the code table selection information. The code table selection information, the encoded motion vectors and an encoded predictive error signal are then multiplexed. A moving picture bit stream encoded as above is decoded. The moving picture bit stream is demultiplexed into the motion vectors, the code table selection information and the encoded predictive error signal. The motion vectors are then decoded by variable-length decoding using the code table selected in accordance with the code table selection information for decoding the predictive error signal by motion-compensated prediction.
Abstract:
A crystalline oxalate containing Al in addition to usual Fe, Co and/or Ni in an amount about 1-20 mole% of the total metals is precipitated from a mixed aqueous solution of respective metal chlorides. The Al-containing oxalate gives a magnetic alloy powder having a large coercive force and high residual magnetization through reduction by H2 at a temperature between 300* and 400*C.
Abstract:
An automatic tape loading recording-reproducing apparatus of drum rotation type comprises a rotary guide drum. The tape is drawn out of a cassette and pulled around the guide drum conformably over a specific region thereof. The guide drum is rotated when the tape contacts the guide drum conformably over a very slight extent thereof. An air film is formed between the rotating guide drum and the tape thus pulled around.
Abstract:
A demodulation system comprises a phase-locked loop for demodulating an angle-modulated wave picked up from a multichannel record disc. A circuit reduces the loop gain of the phase-locked loop to reduce the lock range width of the loop. The lock range falls within the bandwidth of the angle-modulated wave and prevents the occurrence of erroneous locking responsive to the harmonic components of a direct wave. An amplification circuit compensates for a frequency characteristic on the high frequency side of a signal demodulated by the phase-locked loop.
Abstract:
In the course of the reduction of metal salts powder such as a ternary oxalate of Fe, Co and Ni by heating in a reducing atmosphere, a nitrogen-containing compound gas such as NH3 is introduced into the reaction system atmosphere in order to form a layer of metal nitride on the surface of the powder. The nitride layer protects the resulting alloy powder against air-oxidation and deterioration in the magnetic properties.
Abstract:
In a dictation recording and reproducing system wherein a dictator and a transcriber are used, the dictator has a message signal recording section for recording on a recording medium dictation message signals and a control signal recording section for recording control signals in relation to the dictation message signals, and the transcriber accomplishes the operation of rewinding the recording medium thus recorded by the dictator and reproducing the recorded content of recording medium and, moreover, has an indicating section having an indicating medium moving in relation to the travel of the recording medium, a control signal reproducing section for reproducing the control signals from the recording medium thus rewound, and a marking section for inscribing marks in accordance with the control signal thus reproduced by the control signal reproducing section on the moving indicating medium of the indicating section.
Abstract:
An automatic-tape-loading type, recording and/or reproducing apparatus comprises means for drawing out a tape-form recording medium from a tape storing housing structure. The tape is automatically loaded along a specific tape path outside of the housing structure. The recording/reproducing of signals on/from the recording medium occurs while the tape is traveling along the specific tape path. Then the tape is restored into the tape storing housing structure. The means for the recording medium comprises a takeup reel disc for driving a takeup reel within the storing housing structure. A driving roller presses against and drives the takeup reel disc. A first locking means locks the driving roller in its pressed state for driving against the takeup reel disc in relation to the control manipulation used for placing the apparatus in the recording/reproducing mode and for unlocking the driving roller in response to changeover of the operation to stop mode. A second locking means is operated by drawing the tape out of the storing housing structure to lock the driving roller in its pressed state for driving against the reel disc and unlocking the driving roller when all of the recording medium has been returned into the storing housing. Even when the driving roller is unlocked by the first locking device, when control manipulation for the stop mode is effected, it continues to be held in a pressed state against the reel disc by the second locking device in its locking state, thereby to drive the reel disc.
Abstract:
An automatic tape loading type recording and/ or reproducing apparatus has a cylindrical tape guide including at least one rotating head. A ring-shaped structure encircles the tape guide structure and is driven in clockwise and counterclockwise motion. Tape is drawn out and the ring-shaped structure operates to move, under the guidance of a pair of arm members, to draw a tape out of a housing structure such as a cassette. A lock means separates the tape drawing out and guiding means and locks the same with the ring-shaped structure at a position to which it has revolved. Tape pulling around and guiding means moves together with the revolution of the ring-shaped structure to engage the tape, which has been drawn out of the housing. The tape is formed into a loop of approximately triangular shape. The ring-shaped structure continues to revolve further to pull around the tape and wrap the same around the peripheral surface of the cylindrical tape guide structure over a specific wrap angle.
Abstract:
A color image pickup device comprises a lenticular lens disposed in front of and between the image forming screen of a pickup tube and an object to be televised. A color-resolving stripe filter is disposed in front of the lenticular lens. The transverse width of one group of filter elements of the stripe filter is selected to be twice the pitch of each lens element of the lenticular lens. Furthermore, the positions of the lenticular lens and of the stripe filter relative to the image forming screen are selected so that the optical image of the filter is formed on the image forming screen with a magnification ratio of 1 : 1.
Abstract:
An automatic tape loading type recording and/or reproducing apparatus has an improved pinch roller actuating device. A tapeform recording medium is loaded into a specific tape path outside of a tape housing structure and thereafter signals are recorded/reproduced on/from the tape-form recording medium. A pinch roller is moved into an operative position and pressed against a capstan with the tape-form recording medium interposed therebetween. The pressing means is moved into the vicinity of the operative position interrelatedly with the loading operation of the tape loading means. A driving means is started in a smallload state and, at the time of final-period action, at which time energy has been accumulated, the pressing means moves toward the operative position thereby pressing and locking the tape in an operative position.
