Abstract: According to one method for preserving stable calls during failover, during a dialog between two user endpoints, a determination is made whether a standby call processor has become operational, such as when a corresponding primary call processor is in fault. Responsive to determining that the standby call processor has become operational, a signaling protocol message is received from a requester. A determination is made whether the message includes an in-dialog signaling protocol request. Responsive to determining that the message includes the in-dialog request, a determination is made whether a call state associated with the dialog is found in memory. Responsive to determining that the call state associated with the dialog is not found in memory, a non-call terminating error response is made responding to the in-dialog request. The non-call terminating error response may cause the requester to terminate the in-dialog request but not terminate the dialog.

Abstract: Techniques for validating alignment between network element configuration and DNS records associated with a communication network are presented. Alignment management component (AMC) can retrieve respective configuration parameter data items relating to respective configuration parameters associated with respective resource-related identifiers, and respective metadata items associated with the respective resource-related identifiers, from a configuration data store; and retrieve respective DNS records from respective DNS name servers, based on analyzing the respective metadata items associated with respective DNS records. For each resource-related identifier that is supposed to have a corresponding DNS record, based on the result of analyzing the respective configuration parameter data items and respective DNS records, AMC can determine whether the resource-related identifier has a corresponding DNS record stored in the DNS name server indicated by the metadata item. AMC can generate an audit report comprising a missing DNS record data item for each DNS record determined to be missing.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for message flow management for virtual networks. A processor can identify a target virtual network function instance that is to be taken offline. The processor can change a status associated with the target virtual network function instance to indicate it being taken offline. The processor can start a graceful shutdown timer to trigger shutdown of the target virtual network function instance. The processor can identify external interfaces and a peer network function that identifies the target virtual network function instance as a next hop. The processor can obtain, for the target virtual network function instance and the peer network function instance, a snapshot that identifies configuration data for the target virtual network function instance and the peer network function instance and can generate a command to trigger a shutdown of the target virtual network function instance.

An apparatus includes an error capture to: access first and second notifications received from a voice over internet protocol processor, the first notification associated with a first voice over internet protocol user and the second notification associated with a second first voice over internet protocol user and a notifier to: determine a voice over internet protocol user identifier associated with a first notification; determine a video distribution system user identifier associated with the voice over internet protocol user identifier; and transmit a third notification to the video distribution system, the third notification instructing the video distribution system to cause an indication of the first notification to be presented on a video presentation device associated with the video distribution system user identifier.
