Abstract: An example implantable microparticle for delivering therapeutic heat treatment comprises a generally spherical body. The body may be formed from a first material comprising a biodegradable material and a second material comprising a Curie temperature material. The biodegradable material may be a non-Curie temperature material or have a Curie temperature lower than a Curie temperature of the Curie temperature material. The first material and the second material are mixed to form a composite having a Curie temperature in the range of 35° C. and 100° C.

A plurality of elongate electrode assemblies may be disposed on the balloon. A cover layer may be deposited on the electrode assemblies. Portions of the electrode assemblies may be free of the cover layer.

In one illustrative example an occlusion balloon comprises an outer balloon member, and an inner balloon member having an inner wall and an outer wall and extending through at least a portion of the outer balloon member. In at least some examples, when forces acting on the inner wall of the inner balloon member equal forces acting on the outer wall of the inner balloon member, the inner balloon member defines a lumen.

Abstract: A guide catheter may include a tubular member having an inner layer defining a lumen extending therethrough, a reinforcing braid disposed about the inner layer, a plurality of steering wires interwoven through the reinforcing braid, and an outer layer disposed about the reinforcing braid. At least a portion of the reinforcing braid may be embedded within the outer layer. An introducer sleeve may be slidably disposed over the tubular member. A flush port element may be operably connected to the introducer sleeve.

The intravascular system is suited for modulation of renal nerves, for example.

Where one of the plurality of electrodes is active, the remaining electrodes may be inactive and act as ground or return electrodes. The electrode of the plurality of electrodes that is active may change over time.

The catheter includes an elongate member having a proximal end and a distal end, and an inflatable balloon secured adjacent to the distal end of the elongate member. The balloon includes an exterior surface and an interior surface defining a lumen. The lumen includes a section that is permeable to radiofrequency (RF) radiation. The section extends from the interior surface of the balloon to the exterior surface of the balloon. A first electrode is disposed within the inflatable balloon and indifferent electrodes are disposed external to the inflatable balloon.
