Abstract: A leakage current detection and interruption (LCDI) device includes a leakage current detection module, including a first and a second leakage current detection line and at least one resistive element and/or at least one semiconductor element, configured to detect a leakage current signal on the first or second current-carrying line and to generate a leakage fault signal in response to detecting the leakage current signal. The first and second leakage current detection lines are electrically insulated from each other, and respectively cover one of the first and second current-carrying lines. The at least one resistive element and/or semiconductor element is coupled in series between the first and second leakage current detection lines to form a current path for detecting an open circuit fault in the leakage current detection module. By detecting the fault in the first and second leakage current detection lines, the reliability of the LCDI device is improved.

Abstract: An electrical fault detection and interruption device includes a switch module coupled between input and output ends of current carrying lines, for controlling an electrical connection between the two ends; a signal collection module, for detecting a fault signal on the current carrying lines and converting it to an electrical signal; a signal processing module, for determining whether a fault is present on the current carrying lines based on the electrical signal, and generating an electrical fault signal accordingly; a drive module, for driving the switch module to disconnect the electrical connection between the input and output ends in response to receiving the electrical fault signal; and an alarm module, for generating an alarm signal in response to receive the electrical fault signal. Thus, even when the device malfunctions and loses its protection function, it can still generate an alarm signal to alert the user.

Abstract: A safety shield assembly for a power receptacle includes a slider frame and first and second slider blocks disposed therein. The slider frame has a bottom panel and a perpendicular sidewall along a periphery thereof. The bottom panel defines first and second openings having shapes corresponding to shapes of socket holes of the power receptacle. The first and second slider blocks respectively have first and second blocking portions respectively corresponding in position to the first and second opening. The bottom panel of the slider frame further includes guiding members, where the first and second slider blocks move within a space defined by the sidewall, as guided by the guiding members and under spring force of resilient members, between first positions where the first and second openings are covered, and second positions where the first and second openings are exposed. Abstract: A power cord includes at least two power supply lines, at least two insulation layers respectively covering the power supply lines, first and second shield layers respectively disposed around corresponding insulating layers to detect leakage currents on the corresponding power supply lines, at least one shield insulating layer disposed between the first and second shield layers to electrically insulate them from each other, a first and a second signal conductor disposed either between the first (or second) shield layer and the corresponding insulation layer or outside the first (or second) shield layer. Each signal conductors is formed of at least one conductor wire and at least one filament in a twisted or woven structure and configured to conduct the leakage current. The signal conductors have great tensile strength which solves the problem of breaking of the signal conductors.

Abstract: A core unit for a leakage current detection and interruption device includes a control circuit board; a drive coil assembly coupled to the circuit board, including a coil holder frame and an input or output assembly connected thereto; and a magnetic movement assembly nested with the drive coil assembly, including a magnetic movement frame and the output or input assembly connected thereto. In response to relative movements between the drive coil assembly and the magnetic movement assembly away from or toward each other, the input and output assemblies are disconnected from or connected to each other, respectively. The core unit achieves reset function and trip function by the coordination of the drive coil assembly and magnetic movement assembly, effectively ensuring power connection and disconnection while reducing the number of components. This design reduces the size of the device and reduces assembly cost.

Abstract: A leakage current detection and protection device includes a leakage current detection module for generating a detection feedback signal when detecting a leakage current on the power supply lines, wherein the power supply lines supply a working power to the leakage current detection module during half of the AC power cycles; a self-test module for testing whether the leakage current detection module is faulty based on the detection feedback signal, which includes: a simulated leakage current generating circuit for generating a simulated leakage current signal; a fault signal generating module for generating a self-test fault signal when the leakage current detection module has a fault; and a self-test compensation module for supplying an auxiliary working power to the leakage current detection module so the leakage current detection module is in a working state whenever the simulated leakage current is generated. This prevents misjudgment by the leakage current detection module.
