    摘要: An NMR sample tube assembly for holding a sample comprises a sample tube, a sealing plug for sealing the sample within the sample tube, and a rotor for spinning the assembly. The plug is clamped to the sample tube by an axial force. Preferably, the sample tube has a sealing flange protruding from the sample tube exterior along an inlet region of the sample tube. A filling part of the plug is sized to maintain an air escape clearance between the filling part and the sample tube for allowing air to escape out of the sample tube as the filling part is inserted therein. The rotor is secured to a protruding sealing part of the plug and clamps the sealing part to the sealing flange. The designs allow the use of wide sample tube mouths, and reduce the amount of air bubbles present in the samples during measurements.

    摘要: A method and apparatus to perform persistence tests for a mobile station in a network are described. The apparatus includes a random number generator, a timer module, and a processor coupled to the random number generator and the timer module. A counter for the random number generator configured to count access slots is initialized. One or more random numbers are successively generated, until a value of a generated random number is lower than a first predetermined value. At the same time, the counter is successively incremented based on the number of generated random numbers. When the counter value is higher than or equal to a second predetermined value of successive iterations, or, in the alternative, when the value of the generated random number is lower than the first predetermined value, the mobile station is deactivated for a predetermined number of access slots equal to the counter value. A timer interrupt further runs subsequent to the expiration of the predetermined number of access slots. Finally, if an access probe needs to be transmitted to the network, the timer interrupt is disabled and a random access number is generated in preparation for transmission of the access probe to enable access to the network.

    摘要: In an embodiment of the invention, a method for subscriber auditing in a mobile messaging system can be provided. The method can include deploying a mobile messaging system for use in cooperation with a communicatively coupled e-mail server, pushing e-mail from the e-mail server to wireless devices belonging to different subscribers through the mobile messaging system, counting the subscribers and comparing a number of the subscribers to a permitted number of licensed subscribers for the mobile messaging system, and alerting an administrator of the mobile messaging system when the number of the subscribers counted crosses a threshold value less than the licensed subscribers. In one aspect of the embodiment, the threshold value can be zero thus an alert is only sent when the number of subscribers counted exceeds the permitted number of licensed subscribers.

Under influence of a magnetic field, the microdevices can have at least twelve discrete orientations, and can advantageously be flipped upside down in place. Microdevices can be coded in a manner that supports a coding space of at least 102, 103, 106 or even 1010 or more choices, and can include one or more chemically reactive sites. The regions can be defined by long and short bars, in which microdevices span gaps between the longer bars, and the shorter bars measure less than 60% of such gaps. Preferred embodiments are also provided to produce microfabricated microdevices for magnetic assembly-based arraying.
