    摘要: A color marking device including a control system for calibration of the device based upon dynamic color balance control of an output image. The system comprises a front end converter for converting an input signal representative of a target image comprising a preselected color into a device-dependent control signal in accordance with a device TRC, a color marking device for outputting an output image in response to the control signal, a sensor for measuring a parameter from the output image representative of a color of the output image, and, a point-wise controller for comparing the parameter with a corresponding parameter from the target image and constructing adjusted controlled points for the device TRC when the measured parameter and the corresponding parameter vary by a preselected value, a color balance controller for constructing an adjusted device TRC from the controlled points, whereby subsequently generated output images are output with the adjusted device TRC and, more accurately represent target input images.

    摘要: An interpolation calculation requires a plurality of difference signals representing the distances to a set of neighboring colors in space. However, at least some of the plurality of difference signals required for interpolation of a color within the boundary defined by the known color and the set of neighboring colors are also required for interpolation of another color within the boundaries defined by a neighboring known color and its set of neighboring known colors. Accordingly, rather than redundantly storing the difference values, a storage and retrieval scheme is used which only stores non-redundant difference signals, and retrieves from addresses associated with neighboring colors the appropriate difference signals for a given interpolation calculations.

    摘要: A system and method for a pre-print, three-dimensional virtual rendering of a print piece are disclosed. A plurality of modular/pipelined architectural layers are managed, operated, and organized by a controller. A product definition is provided to a job ticket adaptation layer where it is transformed into a physical model. The physical model is then transformed into a display model via the product model layer. The display model is transformed into a scene that can be displayed on a graphical user interface as a three dimensional virtual rendering by a rendering layer, where the rendering includes one or more binding elements to satisfy the product definition. The binding elements may include 3D binding models as well as 2D textures on 3D surfaces to simulate 3D models.

    摘要: Methods and a system for a natural language control interface are provided to enable a user to modify colors in a digital image. A textual interface is provided to select a color to be modified within the image and a direction of change for the modification. A swipe interface is provided to select a magnitude and polarity for the modification. Actions on the textual and swipe interface are converted to natural language commands which are in turn used to derive a color transformation that is applied to relevant portions of the image to yield a modified image. The modifications are displayed in real time for a user to observe as they are inputted.

The exemplary method provides an easy-to-use solution to the common methods of color calibrating a display. Instead of using sliders or manual controls for the individual dimensions of a three-dimensional color problem, the user is able to make adjustments via natural language commands, such as “make reference patch less purple.” The method does not require the user to understand color mixing technology when making separate R, G, and B adjustments to match a specified patch. A user can easily express the necessary color adjustment in natural language terms, making the process simpler and faster.

    摘要: A variable price on-line printing system includes printing and finishing resources, and an on-line server to receive print job data and electronic requests for use of the printing/finishing resources from customer workstations. A dynamic price database includes data that describe current and anticipated future demand for the printing/finishing resources. An automated dynamic price offer generation process accesses the dynamic price database and derives a dynamic price for use of at least one of the printing/finishing resources based upon current and anticipated future demand as indicated in the dynamic price database. A user interface engine receives input from the automated dynamic price offer generation process and outputs price offers to the customer workstations, including the dynamic price associated with a printing/finishing resource, wherein the dynamic price is tailored to shape demand for the printing/finishing resource. The customer can accept or decline the dynamic price offer. In this manner, under-utilized printing/finishing resources, including turn-around options, are priced more attractively as compared to over-utilized printing/finishing resources to increase customer demand based upon real-time load/utilization/availability data for the printing/finishing resources of the on-line print shop. The printing/finishing resources can be geographically dispersed print shops of a printing enterprise, or certain resources of same.
