    摘要: A color marking device including a control system for calibration of the device based upon dynamic color balance control of an output image. The system comprises a front end converter for converting an input signal representative of a target image comprising a preselected color into a device-dependent control signal in accordance with a device TRC, a color marking device for outputting an output image in response to the control signal, a sensor for measuring a parameter from the output image representative of a color of the output image, and, a point-wise controller for comparing the parameter with a corresponding parameter from the target image and constructing adjusted controlled points for the device TRC when the measured parameter and the corresponding parameter vary by a preselected value, a color balance controller for constructing an adjusted device TRC from the controlled points, whereby subsequently generated output images are output with the adjusted device TRC and, more accurately represent target input images.

    摘要: A method for determining and assigning colorimetry and authorship device information to an image of unknown colorimetry includes iteratively displaying the image on a display device and selecting possible source device profiles for transforming the image. When a possible source device is indicated or selected, the source device is emulated on the display device and the image is displayed through the emulation. A user can then evaluate the indicated source device and if necessary indicate a new possible source device. When the most likely source device is selected, further image processing is enabled. The method can be carried out on a color image processor comprising a source device emulator and display device interface. The display device interface can use a display device profile for profile connection space to display device transformation.

    摘要: A method of calibrating the response of the printer to an image described in terms of colorimetric values, including the steps of: a) setting printer parameters; b) deriving a printer response characteristic by printing a calibration test from device dependent printer signals stored in a device memory, the calibration image including a plurality of color patches, some of which may be repeated at a plurality of locations on the test image at spatially disparate locations selected to keep local printer non-uniformities from affecting both locations; c) measuring printer response characteristics in device independent terms; d) generating a memory mapping of device independent colors to printer responses for subsequent use in printing images defined in device independent terms. The calibration target includes a large number of patches generated from combinations of printer colorants, and may repeat some of those patches either on the same sheet or on a plurality of sheets at positions on the sheet which are spatially distinct.

    摘要: A system and method for a pre-print, three-dimensional virtual rendering of a print piece is disclosed. A plurality of modular/pipelined architectural layers are managed, operated, and organized by a controller. A product definition is provided to a job ticket adaptation layer where it is transformed into a physical model. The physical model is then transformed into a display model via the product model layer. The display model is transformed into a scene that can be displayed on a graphical user interface as a three dimensional virtual rendering by a rendering layer, where the rendering includes one or more binding elements to satisfy the product definition. The modularity further enables different product description formats to be supported by only altering the job ticket adaption layer, and that different graphics rendering engines can be supported by altering only the rendering layer.
