Abstract:
A method and apparatus for conducting business via the worldwide Web in which business programming is isolated from Web user interface programming. In accordance with the invention, a gateway servlet interfaces between a consumer's browser's software and a e-business retailer's back-end business software running, for instance, on a separate mainframe. The gateway servlet receives input information from the consumer and forwards it to the back-end software for business processing. The back-end software returns a user interface record object to the gateway which then instantiates a Java bean and invokes a Java Server Page in order to generate a HTML page to be returned to the user based on the user input information and the business back-end processing thereof.

Abstract:
A system and method for enabling re-filtering of trace history data in a debugger without re-executing the program. Trace history data is stored together with its category information when the program is initially executed and trace history text is output to a user. If re-filtering is necessary, the new filtering criteria is applied to the stored trace history data and new text is output to the user.
Abstract:
In various embodiments, cylinder assemblies are coupled in series pneumatically, thereby reducing a range of force produced by or acting on the cylinder assemblies during expansion or compression of a gas.
Abstract:
A system and method switches between an active call and a call on hold when handing off a mobile station (204) from a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) (202). A Handover Starting message is received from a mobile station. The Handover Starting message includes at least one first identifier. A Notification message is also received. The Notification message includes a second identifier. The at least one first identifier is compared to the second identifier and a handover of the mobile station (204) proceeds when a match is determined. Subsequently, the mobile station (204) switches from an active call to a call on hold.
Abstract:
A system and method for processing signals determines rise and fall times of a driving signal, compares the rise and fall times to desired values, and independently controls the rise and fall times to equal the desired values. The rise and fall times may be controlled by generating one or more first correction bits based on a difference between the rise time and a corresponding one of the desired values, generating one or more second correction bits based on a difference between the fall time and a corresponding one of the desired values, and then separately applying the bits to independently control the rise and fall times of the driving signal. The driving signal may be an I/O signal or another type of signal.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for pre-authenticating a mobile client in a wireless network. Authenticators in a secured section of the wireless network share a master key generated during an authentication session between a mobile client and an authentication server. The shared master key is not allowed to reside on any devices located outside the secured section of the network. Accordingly, the likelihood that the master key may be hijacked is essentially eliminated. A first session encryption key is derived from the master key and used by the mobile client and a first access point during a first communications session. When the mobile client roams to a second access point, a fast authentication process is performed. The fast authentication process retrieves the shared master key and generates a second session encryption key. A full authentication process between the authentication server and the mobile client is not required. The second session encryption key is used by the mobile client and a second access point during a second communications session.
Abstract:
A system and method for facilitating communications amongst a plurality of mobile units in a network establishes a plurality of underlay communication cells (201, 220, 222). At least two of the plurality of mobile units are positioned in at least one of the underlay communication cells, the units being capable of communications via the underlay communication cells (201, 220, 222). An overlay communication cell (212) is established and covers the same area as at least the underlay cells (201, 220, 222) that include the at least two of the plurality of mobile units. An association between underlay cells (201, 220, 222) is established that include the at least two mobile units and the overlay communication cell (212). A group communication call is established between the at least two mobile units using the overlay cell.
Abstract:
A mobility-unaware mobile node (MN) (112) in a visited subnet (110) different from its home subnet (108) sends (302) an ARP Request to discover a first MAC address of a device in the home subnet, the ARP Request containing an IP address assigned to the device. A software program, designated host (106) in the visited subnet and corresponding method of assisting the MN (112) receives (304) the ARP Request, and determines that the IP address does not belong to the visited subnet. In response, the designated host returns (310) an ARP Response containing its own MAC address, which the mobile node will assume to be the MAC address of the device in the home subnet and use for sending packets to the device.

A therapeutic chewing gum composition orally utilizable to maintain the minerals balance of human physiological fluids during strenuous activity comprising an insoluble gum base having bound therein from about 2 to about 6 percent by weight of sodium chloride and from about 0.1 to about 0.5 percent by weight of potassium chloride; wherein the relative weight ratio of sodium chloride to potassium chloride is at least about 3:1.
Abstract:
Example embodiments relate to a network-based ontology curation system employed for receiving a request to view a data object, curating an ontology associated with the data object on-the-fly based on attributes of the request that include device and user characteristics.
