Abstract: Methods and systems for managing distributed systems are disclosed. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for providing for providing computer implemented services using managed systems are disclosed. To improve the likelihood of the computer implemented services being provided, a subscription based model may be used to manage the managed systems. The subscription based model may provide for automatic configuration of and software deployment to any number of managed systems to provide subscribed to solutions to various users. To manage subscriptions, a highly available management service may be provided to users. The management service may allow users to select desired services. Once selected, the management service may automatically modify various managed systems to provide the subscribed solution.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for providing computer implemented services using managed systems are disclosed. To provide the computer implemented services, the managed systems may need to operate in a predetermined manner conducive to, for example, execution of applications that provide the computer implemented services. Similarly, the managed system may need access to certain hardware resources (e.g., and also software resources such as drivers, firmware, etc.) to provide the desired computer implemented services. To improve the likelihood of the computer implemented services being provided, the managed systems may be managed using a subscription based model. The subscription model may utilize a highly accessible service to obtain information regarding desired capabilities (e.g., a subscription) of a managed system, and use the acquired information to automatically configure and manage the features and capabilities of the managed systems by powering and depowering select components as well as deploying dynamically composed management entities.

Over time, the solutions desired by users may change. The subscription based model may facilitate automatic disablement of existing solutions and deployment of new solutions to facilitate changes in solutions. To provide for continuity of solutions, the automated disablement and enablement processes may take into account data compatibility, and may proactively reformat or otherwise modify data to reduce data incompatibility. A continuous experience may be provided through which previously utilized data may be retained and used after solution changes have been implemented.
