摘要: An absorbent composite disposed in an absorbent article between a topsheet and a backsheet is presented, the absorbent composite including a first intake layer disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, and a retention layer disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, wherein one of the first intake layer and the retention layer includes a resilient coform material. When the first intake layer includes a resilient coform material, the retention layer includes one of a high-density, hydrogen-bonded, fluff/superabsorbent polymer material, a spunlace material, a superabsorbent polymer/adhesive composite material, and a foam material. The absorbent composite can further include a distribution layer disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, the distribution layer including one of a meltblown microfiber material, a spunlace material, and a foam material.

摘要: The present disclosure generally relates to absorbent articles, such as diapers, training pants, swim pants, incontinence articles, feminine care articles, and the like, that comprise a system for generating a fluid or odor barrier or interceptor. More specifically, the articles comprise a pre-use foam composition that when contacted with a triggering agent, expands to produce a foam barrier or interceptor structure that provides protection against leakage of the absorbent article.

摘要: The present invention provides an absorbent article having longitudinal direction, a lateral direction, a second portion and a first portion. This absorbent article has a topsheet which has a first major surface that forms a body-facing surface. In addition, the absorbent article has a backsheet which has a second major surface disposed distally from the first major surface. The second major surface of the backsheet forms a garment facing surface of the absorbent article. On the second portion of the top sheet on the first major surface, a body adhesive is applied. In the first portion of the absorbent article, a garment attachment device for attaching the absorbent article to an undergarment of a user is present. The body adhesive applied to the topsheet serves to attach and hold the absorbent article to the body of a user, thereby assisting to prevent the absorbent article from twisting or bunching during normal use and the garment attachment device present on the first portion of the absorbent personal care article serves to hold the absorbent article in contact with the undergarment of the user.

摘要: A method of evaluating a product for use on a body used to develop a preferred product configuration using a computer-based virtual product development and testing system. A virtual wearer sub-model is created of the body and a virtual product sub-model is created of a product for use on the body. An environment sub-model is generated so that environmental factors affecting the product or the body are also used in designing or evaluating the product. Instructions defining how the wearer sub-model, the product sub-model and the environment sub-model interact are introduced in an interaction model. The sub-models and the interaction defined by the interaction model are then combined to create a virtual use model simulating the use of the virtual product sub-model by the virtual wearer sub-model. The use model determines the forces, deformations and stresses caused by movement and interaction between the virtual wearer sub-model and the virtual product sub-model using numerical method analysis. The results of the use model are analyzed to evaluate the performance of product features embodied in the virtual product sub-model such as when positioned on a virtual wearer and exposed to typical movements or forces. The analysis evaluates the performance of at least one product feature of the product and/or wearer body.

摘要: Disclosed is an improved structure that includes a nonwoven web including a viscoelastant treatment. The treated web, when contacted by a viscoelastic fluid such as menses alters the viscoelastic properties of the fluid and enhances its wicking and distribution throughout the absorbent structure. A desirable viscoelastant is a alkyl polyglycoside, particularly those having 8 to 10 carbon atoms in the alkyl chain. When applied so as to provide an amount of about 0.1% to about 5.0% solids add-on based on the weight of the dry nonwoven web, rapid fluid wicking and distribution may be obtained. Other viscoelastants are disclosed. Advantageously the treatment may be applied as a high solids composition using conventional application means such as spray coaters and the like or as an internal additive. The absorbent structure finds particular utility as a distribution layer component of a sanitary napkin for absorbing menses as well as other blood handling products such as surgical drapes, for example.
