    摘要: Disclosed are systems, methods and computer program products for facilitating dynamic addition and release of IP addresses in an established Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIP) sessions, for example, based on the demand of a mobile device. An example method comprises receiving from the mobile device a request to add a second IP interface type to a current communication session associated with a first IP interface type, wherein the second IP interface type is different from the first IP interface type. The method further includes receiving from the home network a set of IP addresses of the second IP interface type and establishing one or more IP flows of the second IP interface type using one or more received IP addresses. The method further includes associating the one or more IP flows of the second IP interface type with the current communication session for the mobile device.

    摘要: Techniques for IP flow mobility in a wireless data communications system, which allow for selective movement of IP data flows between different access networks supporting different access technology types. An access terminal (AT) is configured to selectively communicate using plural access technologies. Plural IP data flows are established between the AT and a first access network using a first technology type. A flow mobility trigger condition is detected, and in response, at least one IP data flow is moved to a second access network using a second technology, while maintaining at least another of the data flows to the first access network, and using the same IP address for the AT for data flows handled by both access networks, by using a mapping function between packet-filters for data flows and the access technology. The techniques may be used in conjunction with IP mobility protocols such as PMIP and CMIP.

    摘要: Embodiments relate to systems and methods for dynamic association ordering based on service differentiation in wireless local area networks. A WiFi™ or other access point can broadcast beacon information to surrounding stations, and receive probe requests from those stations seeking to associate with the access point. The access point can determine a classification for each station, depending on station attributes such as subscription status, handoff status, or others. Stations receiving a higher classification can enter the association process sooner than those with lower classifications. The association order can be managed by inserting a delay in the probe response, by broadcasting the classifications which will be processed in the next beacon interval, or by adjusting the order in which association steps will be performed. Stations having higher classifications can be associated more quickly than lower-classification stations, in contrast to conventional association techniques which handle probe requests in the order received.

    摘要: A communication system reduces set up time for an inter-technology handoff of a multi-mode mobile station (MS) from a source network associated with a first radio frequency (RF) technology to a target network associated with a second RF technology by pre-establishing, prior to a determination to handoff the MS, a registration state of the MS and an authentication of the MS in association with the target network and second RF technology. In order to pre-establish the registration state and authentication, the MS exchanges messaging of the second RF technology with the second network via the first network and first RF technology. To facilitate the exchange, the MS includes shims in a second protocol stack associated with the second technology, which shims intercept second protocol stack signaling and redirect the intercepted signaling to a first protocol stack of the MS, associated with the first technology, for tunneling to the source network.

    摘要: Disclosed are systems, methods and computer program products for performing multiple registrations across different radio access technologies (RATs). In one aspect, the registration procedure provisions a mobile device to register with a primary RAT and pre-register with at least one non-primary RAT using its air interface, which is different from the primary RAT. The pre-registration procedure includes setting up a radio session context and a packet data network (PDN) context with the non-primary RAT. The procedure further includes setting up a pseudo-binding with an external PDN gateway and obtaining binding state information for the mobile device from the PDN gateway without transferring binding state from the primary RAT to the non-primary RAT. The binding state information may be added to the PDN context. The mobile device may then perform handoff from the primary RAN to non-primary RAN using the preset contexts.
