Abstract:
The invention provides polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foams and methods for the preparation thereof. More particularly, the invention relates to closed-celled, polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foams and methods for their preparation. The foams are characterized by a fine uniform cell structure and little or no foam collapse. The foams are produced with a polyol premix composition which comprises a combination of a hydrohaloolefin blowing agent, a polyol, a silicone surfactant, and a non-amine catalyst used alone or in combination with an amine catalyst.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to partially fluorinated copolymers and the production thereof. More specifically, the copolymers, which are preferably produced by a solution polymerization process, preferably have at least three units, the first unit selected from 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene and 1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, the second unit having a polymerized monomer selected from the vinyl esters and vinyl ethers, and the third unit having a polymerized monomer derived from a hydroxyl group-containing vinyl ether. The resulting copolymer is environmentally friendly, has favorable molecular weight characteristics, and may be shipped economically in high concentration.
Abstract:
In accordance with the present invention, aqueous emulsion polymerization processes of synthesizing 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene/vinylidene fluoride copolymers having 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene as the major monomer unit are provided.

Abstract:
Fibers and methods of producing fibers comprising fluorinated polymers having comonomers of tetrafluoropropene are provided. Methods may include providing a solution having a fluorinated polymer dissolved in a solvent, wherein at least one monomer of the polymer comprises a tetrafluoropropene, exposing the solution to an electrostatic field between the solution and a collection electrode, and forming fibers from the solution fluorinated polymer. Fibers may include a fluorinated polymer, wherein at least one of the monomers of the fluorinated polymer comprises tetrafluoropropene.
Abstract:
Fumigant compositions including hexafluoropropylene oxide (HFPO) and methods of preparing such compositions are provided. The fumigant compositions may be suitable for use as soil fumigant compositions and structural fumigant compositions against a variety of undesirable species such as weeds, nematodes, pathogens, animals and insects. The fumigant compositions also have low toxicity and low Global Warming Potential (GWP).
Abstract:
The present invention generally relates to polymeric membrane materials formed, at least in part, from monomeric material selected from 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (CF3CF=CH2, HF0-1234y0 or trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (CF3CH=CFH, HFO-1234ze), and to membrane preparations and uses thereof in water desalination, filtration, membrane distillation, pervaporation, and selective gas separation.
Abstract:
Fumigant compositions including hexafluoropropene or 1,1,3,3,3-pentafluoropropene, and methods of making such compositions, are provided herein. The fumigant compositions may be suitable for use as soil fumigant compositions and structural fumigant compositions against a variety of undesirable species such as weeds, nematodes, pathogens, animals and insects. The fumigant compositions also have low toxicity and low Global Warming Potential. In one embodiment, a fumigant composition includes hexafluoropropene, 1,1,3,3,3-pentafluoropropene or a combination thereof. The fumigant composition further includes at least one component selected from methyl iodide, chloropicrin, acrolein, 1,3 dichloropropene, dimethyl disulfide, furfural, propylene oxide metham sodium and combinations thereof. The fumigant composition also includes at least one surfactant.
