    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose a mobility management procedure initiation method and a device, where the method may include: when a quantity N of failures of a mobility management procedure initiated by a device to a core network entity is greater than or equal to a first threshold, determining, by the device, whether N pieces of failure information include first information used to indicate a failure in establishing a radio resource control protocol connection; when the device determines that the N pieces of failure information include the first information, setting, by the device, an initiation condition parameter for initiating the mobility management procedure; and initiating, by the device, the mobility management procedure based on the initiation condition parameter. The present disclosure can improve a network access speed of the device.

    Abstract: A method can be implemented by a user equipment to update RPLMN information. A PLMN identifier is selected from an available PLMN identifier set that includes PLMN identifiers with RPLMN information, HPLMN information, UPLMN information, and OPLMN information separately. A location update request message that carries the PLMN identifier is sent to a mobile switching center. A TMSI reallocation command is acquired from the mobile switching center according to the location update request message. It is determined whether location update acceptance information that is returned by the mobile switching center according to the location update request message is currently acquired. An operation of updating the PLMN identifier to registered public land mobile network RPLMN information is performed when the location update acceptance information is acquired and the operation of updating the PLMN identifier to RPLMN information is skipped when the location update acceptance information is not acquired.

    Abstract: This application discloses a network topology discovery method and a node device. In this application, a root node device sends a link discovery message to a child node device through a first port; receives a link discovery acknowledge message sent by the child node device through a second port of the child node device, where the link discovery acknowledge message includes an identifier of the child node device and an identifier of the second port; and determines a first link based on the link discovery acknowledge message, where the first link is a link between the first port and the second port. According to the solutions of this application, when detecting that a link of a port is connected, the node device discovers an existing topology relationship through message interaction, so as to implement network topology discovery.

    Abstract: A network search method includes receiving, by a terminal device, a user operation, where the user operation requests communication with a network device by using a 5th Generation (5G) access technology; and when a cell with which the terminal device currently registers is a non-allowed area, searching for a second cell, where the second cell is an allowed area, so that the terminal device communicates with the network device in the second cell by using the 5G access technology.
