    摘要: A partial bit demodulation section demodulates partial bits among a plurality of bits that form one symbol of each modulated signal using a detection method different from likelihood detection. Signal point reduction sections reduce the number of candidate signal points using demodulated partial bits. A likelihood detection section obtains received digital signals by performing likelihood detection based on the Euclidian distances between the reduced candidate signal points and a reception point. Only some bits which are unlikely to be erroneous are found by the partial bit demodulation section, and other bits can be found by the likelihood detection section, enabling bit error rate performances to be effectively improved with a comparatively small computational complexity.

    摘要: It is possible to demodulate a plurality of modulated signals transmitted from a plurality of antennas by using a comparatively small-size circuit with a preferable error ratio characteristic. Partial bit judgment units (509, 512) demodulates partial bits of the 64 QAM-modulated signal by modifying which of the bits in the 6-bit strings constituting a symbol is to be demodulated depending on in which region of the IQ plane the reception signal point exists. This improves the partial bit error characteristic judged by the partial bit judgment units (509, 512), which in turn improves reliability of the reduced candidate signal point for use by a likelihood detection unit (518). As a result, it is possible to improve the error ratio characteristic of the final reception digital signals (322, 323).

    摘要: Modulated signal A is transmitted from a first antenna, and modulated signal B is transmitted from a second antenna. As modulated signal B, modulated symbols S2(i) and S2(i+1) obtained from different data are transmitted at time i and time i+1 respectively. In contrast, as modulated signal A, modulated symbols S1(i) and S1(i)′ obtained by changing the signal point arrangement of the same data are transmitted at time i and time i+1 respectively. As a result the reception quality can be changed intentionally at time i and time i+1, and therefore using the demodulation result of modulated signal A of a time when the reception quality is good enables both modulated signals A and B to be demodulated with good error rate performances.

In this apparatus, an antenna changing section (105) stores an antenna change pattern in internal memory, and each time a clock signal is input, generates an antenna change signal directing an antenna change in accordance with the antenna change pattern, and outputs this signal to an antenna selection section (106). Based on the antenna change signal, the antenna selection section (106) selects two different antennas from among the transmitting antennas (107-1 through 107-3) as transmitting antennas of transmit signal A output from a radio section (104-1) and transmit signal B output from a radio section (104-2), and performs radio transmission of transmit signal A and transmit signal B using the selected transmitting antennas.
