摘要： The present invention is to provide a printing apparatus and printing method capable of stably printing an image with high accuracy by avoiding effects of a dimensional error and printing characteristics specific to a printing head and a mounting error of the printing head. For this purpose, a printing condition detector is mounted on a carriage moving in a primary scanning direction, and a printing head is mounted replaceably on the carriage. An image printed on a printing medium by the printing head is detected by the printing condition detector, and the printing head is controlled according to the detection result.

摘要： A reading unit provided with an optical system mounted on a recording apparatus to read a source document includes a housing having the optical system in it, a light transmitting portion arranged on the outer surface of the housing of the reading unit in order to guide the light outside the reading unit into the optical system of the reading unit, and a protection member to cover the outer side of the light transmitting portion for opening and closing such portion freely. With the structure thus arranged, the reading unit is protected from ink mist and other particles created by the recording apparatus that may contaminate the reading unit, hence preventing the accuracy of reading signals from being lowered when reading is performed by means of this reading unit.

摘要： A liquid discharging apparatus includes a liquid container having an information storage portion configured to store information and a supply port for supplying liquid in the liquid container to the outside and a movable member having the liquid container attached thereon. After the connection between the supply port and the apparatus is severed while the movable member moves from a first position to a second position, information is written in the information storage portion. The second position is set such that the time required for the movable member to move from the first position to the second position is longer than or equal to the time required for the information communication.

摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus supplying ink from a main tank to a head via a sub tank. The sub tank has two flow paths communicating with the main tank, an atmosphere communicating part, and a liquid exit part to the head. The liquid in the sub tank is maintained at a constant liquid level position by selecting, between the two flow paths, the flow path having a lower flow path resistance. Thus, the ink jet recording apparatus can store a predetermined amount of liquid stably in the sub tank. The ink jet recording apparatus and the liquid supply apparatus are capable, even when the main tank is detached or the ink therein is exhausted, of continuing the recording for a predetermined time or number of sheets, utilizing the ink in the sub tank.

摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus supplying ink from a main tank to a head via a sub tank. The sub tank has two flow paths communicating with the main tank, an atmosphere communicating part, and a liquid exit part to the head. 摘要： A multilayer film is produced by forming a first and a second layers consecutively on at least one surface of a biaxially stretched polyester base. The first layer contains particles and a binder both composed mainly of either tin oxide, indium oxide, zirconium oxide, or titanium oxide. When the refractive indexes of the base, the first layer, and the second layer are represented by η1, η2, and η3 respectively, the first layer and the second layer are adjusted for the refractive index such that the differences |η1−η2| and |η1−η3| are both not greater than 0.03. Adhesive strength is therefore kept high between the base and the layers to eliminate light interference, and the multilayer film offers an excellent optical property with few color rainbow effect.

摘要： A scanner head cartridge is constituted by a lower case which houses optical parts required for reading and electrical parts required for image processing, and an upper case which can engage with the lower case to cover the open surface of the lower case, and a positioning guide means used upon inserting the cartridge into the carriage is formed on the surface of the upper case, that is opposite to the lower case. A scanner head cartridge is held on a carriage that moves an ink head cartridge of an ink-jet printer for performing recording on a recording medium, in place of the ink head cartridge, and can be commonly used using a common base unit even in carriages which mount different ink head cartridges and have different shapes. In addition, the scanner head cartridge allows easy adjustment of the optical system.
