摘要: A method and system for remote control at a client of a multimedia content distribution network (MCDN) enables a user to configure a wireless user device as a remote control device (RCD). The RCD may communicate via a wireless network and an MCDN server to execute remote control commands at the MCDN client. The RCD may implement a remote control interface, including control elements configured for touch operation. The control elements may provide specific interactive functionality for channel selection, volume selection, playback of multimedia content, and other remote control features. The RCD may also receive feedback and status information associated with remote control commands.

摘要: Methods and computer-readable media provide presenting a customized message to an incoming calling party and for allowing the calling party to save or forward the customized message. A called party desiring to leave a customized message for certain incoming calling parties submits a customized message to an intelligent network component of her telecommunications service provider along with identifiers for specified incoming callers who are to receive the customized message upon calling the called party. After the customized message is prepared, incoming callers who have been associated with the customized message are presented with the customized message before being connected to the called party. After an incoming caller receives the customized message, the calling party may store or send the customized message for later retrieval. If the incoming call is not from a telephone directory number associated with the customized message, the incoming call is processed according to normal call processing methods.

摘要: Methods and systems are disclosed for selecting the content of Internet Call-Waiting messages. One method includes providing a selection of content for an Internet Call-Waiting message and allowing a customer/user to select the content of the Internet Call-Waiting message. The customer/user may select graphics, animation, and sound to accompany the Internet Call-Waiting message. Once the content is selected, the customer/user may then associate the content with a telephone number.

摘要: An encoded telephone signalling apparatus and method provides pleasant, relatively distinct and quickly distinguishable personalized call destination information and distinctive call origin information signals within an audible ringing pattern. The ring pattern or envelope is partitioned into two segments, the first segment providing call destination and identifying which party should answer the call, the second segment providing call origin information. The second segment contains information such as, for example, whether the call is an inside call (intercom), an outside call (central office), or a priority call. Within the first segment, call destination information is encoded in a melodic contour pattern. Within the second segment, call origin information is encoded by varying the number of pulses obtained from a single frequency audio signal which is syncopated to the melodic contour pattern provided by different audio frequencies in the first segment.
