    Abstract: This application provides a communication method and a communication apparatus, to flexibly enable an MUSIM feature. This helps save network resources. The method includes: A terminal device determines first indication information based on states of a plurality of universal subscriber identity modules USIMs, where the first indication information indicates to enable or disable a paging enhancement function, and/or enable or disable a paging occasion collision avoidance function, and the terminal device includes the plurality of USIMs; and sends the first indication information to an access and mobility management function AMF. Therefore, the terminal device determines whether to enable or disable the MUSIM feature, and notifies, by using the first indication information, the AMF of whether to enable or disable the MUSIM feature, so that the AMF performs a corresponding operation based on content indicated by the first indication information.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to communication methods and apparatus. In one example method, a first message from a relay terminal is received by a first terminal. The first message includes first indication information, an application layer identifier of a second terminal, and a first address of the second terminal. The first indication information can indicate a first unicast link between the first terminal and the relay terminal. The first terminal updates first information of the first unicast link based on the first message to obtain updated second information of the first unicast link. The second information includes the application layer identifier of the second terminal and the first address.

    Abstract: A terminal includes a first universal subscriber identity module (USIM) and a second USIM. A method for determining a paging occasion (PO) of the terminal includes, in response to a first PO of the first USIM being the same as a PO of the second USIM, sending, by the terminal, indication information to a mobility management network element communicating with the first USIM. The indication information is used to indicate that POs of at least two USIMs in the terminal are the same. The method also includes receiving, by the terminal, a first parameter from the mobility management network element. The method further includes determining, by the terminal, a second PO of the first USIM based on the first parameter. The second PO of the first USIM is different from the PO of the second USIM.

    Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a communication method and a communications apparatus, to implement a purpose that a terminal can perform normal communication without local authentication. In the embodiments of this application, the method includes: receiving, by a mobility management network element, a request message that is from a terminal and that is used to request access to a network; and triggering, by the mobility management network element, third-party authentication when the mobility management network element determines, based on the request message, to perform third-party authentication on the terminal. In this case, after authentication is performed between the terminal and a third party, even if local authentication is not performed, the terminal may access the network for communication after third-party authentication is performed.

    Abstract: This application discloses an information exchange method and apparatus. In the method, a terminal device transmits attach request information to a core network device, receives attach accept information of the core network device, where the attach accept information includes a first integrity check code; the terminal device obtains a second integrity check code based on the attach accept information; and the terminal device obtains, if the first integrity check code is the same as the second integrity check code, a third integrity check code based on encrypted attach complete information, and transmits encrypted attach complete information to which the third integrity check code is added to the core network device. This reduces data exchange procedures, reduces an amount of data of exchanged information, and reduces a time consumed in an information exchange process performed between the terminal device and the core network device.

    Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, the application discloses a communication method, an apparatus, and a system, and relates to the communications field, to help a terminal device in an RRC-inactive state perform a mobility-triggered TAU. The method includes the operations of: in response to determining that a TAI of a location of a terminal device in an RRC-inactive state does not belong to a TAL of the terminal device, switching, by the terminal device, to a CM idle state; sending, by the terminal device, a registration request message to an AMF by using a target RAN node, where the registration request message is used to request to allocate a TAL to the terminal device; and receiving, by the terminal device by using the target RAN node, a registration accept message sent by the AMF, where the registration accept message includes the allocated TAL. Embodiments of this application are applied to a scenario in which the terminal device moves between registration areas.
