    Abstract: A method and a system for exercising policy control, a policy and charging enforcement function (PCEF) are provided, which can solve the problem that no policy control can be exercised over application service flows without an application function (AF). In the method, a PCRF receives information about an application event sent by a PCEF after subscribing the application event from the PCEF; and the PCRF generates a control policy for a service flow of the application according to the information about the application event. In the present invention, the PCEF sends the obtained information about the application event to the PCRF, so that even when no AF is involved, the PCRF can still generate a control policy according to policy contexts including the information about the application event and the like.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a packet processing method, a DPI network element and a DPI device. The method includes: determining, according to a packet feature of a first packet of a service flow, that a first deep packet inspection DPI device is used for performing DPI on the first packet, where DPI needs to be performed on the first packet; sending a first DPI request to the first DPI device, wherein the first DPI request includes all or part of contents of the first packet; and receiving a first DPI response that is sent by the first DPI device according to the first DPI request, wherein the first DPI response includes DPI result. The packet processing method, the DPI network element and the DPI device of the embodiments of the present disclosure can realize support for a network environment deployed with multiple DPI devices.

    Abstract: A service processing method, a service processing system, and a PCRF entity are disclosed to overcome this defect in the prior art: The prior art is unable to handle services discriminatively according to the policy context information when different services require the same QoS level. The method includes: receiving bearer priority information from a PCRF entity, where the bearer priority information includes: bearer priority information of a service data stream, bearer priority information of an IP-CAN session, and/or bearer priority information of an IP-CAN bearer; and handling services according to the bearer priority information. In the embodiments of the present disclosure, the policy context information is converted into bearer priority information so that the PCEF handles services according to the bearer priority information. In this way, different services that require the same QoS level are handled discriminatively according to the policy context information.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a switch, a controller, a system, and a link quality detection method, and pertain to the field of network technologies. In the present invention, the controller determines a detection path, and controls each switch on the detection path to obtain a detection packet, so that after determining that the obtained detection packet matches a prestored flow table entry, each switch adds OAM information to the successfully matched detection packet; and the controller obtains a termination detection packet, and determines link quality according to the termination detection packet. Each switch on a detection path does not need to use a corresponding link quality detection protocol to detect link quality, and only needs to add OAM information to an obtained detection packet. In this way, not only a structure of each switch can be simplified, but also operations of each switch are simplified.
