    摘要： A method of assembling a jointed structure from several parts is provided. At least two discrete parts having ends that cooperate to form a movable joint between the parts are placed in a groove formed in a plate. The parts are prevented from being displaced out of the groove when pressure is applied to at least one end of the groove to force the cooperating ends of the parts together to form joints which link the parts. The jointed linkage can then be removed from the plate as an assembled structure.

    摘要： A method of injection molding a part having two undercut regions using a two-part mold. A combined pin-in-a-sleeve extends into the cavity in each of the mold parts in order to form a bore in a part to be molded in that cavity. Each pin provides a portion shaped to form an undercut region in the bore. The pins abut each other. After an injection molded part is made, the mold opens a limited and discrete distance to allow the molded part to be released from the hold of the mold cavity. Then, the mold opens fully for the continuation of a multi-step operation to pull the pins out of the undercut regions.

    摘要： A method of molding, from porous material, a low-density product having an impermeable surface. A mold is provided, which has a cavity, the outline of which defines the outline of the product. The starting material is a flat sheet of plastic foam. The first step of the process, in some cases, is a pre-heating procedure, which softens the material. Then, from this sheet there is stamped a blank having substantially the outline of the desired product, which is then inserted into the mold cavity. The mold is then heated with the blank therein to form the blank permanently into the desired product, after which the mold is quenched in cold water with the product still inside. The product is subsequently removed from the mold and frozen. The result of this molding method is a low-density product having an impermeable surface integral with the foam interior which is suitable for receiving various types of brightly colored finished. It is also contemplated that a non-porous plastic film may be molded in place on the surface of the product.

    摘要： A game apparatus has a housing and a removable lid for covering the housing. A brief flash of high-intensity illumination is provided when the lid is removed. A number of playing pieces randomly positioned within the housing receive the illumination of the flash. The playing pieces briefly radiate color-coded visible light after receiving the flash, forming a random pattern of colored light. At least two players may view the game pieces to form impressions of the locations of the playing pieces while they are radiating the light. Each player must rely upon his memory as to where his color of playing pieces are located. The players use an implement to remove the game pieces in turn according to his memory of where colors assigned to him are located.

    摘要： An inertia motor especially--but not exclusively--for a toy vehicle. A rear wheel axle extends through the housing and has a drive gear mounted thereon to turn unitarily therewith. A flywheel is rotatably mounted on the housing for spinning to store or to payout energy. First and second gear trains extend between the drive gear and flywheel. A movable control lever carries first and second movable gears, one of the movable gears being an idler mounted on and movable with a shaft which passes through a pair of oppositely disposed arcuate slots, the other movable gears being mounted on a shaft journaled in the lever arm. The arcuate slots are located so that the idler gear meshes with one of the gear trains when the lever arm is in one of its two positions. The teeth on the meshing gears dynamically pull the shaft to one end of the arcuate slots and into the one gear train when the drive gear is driving and pushing the shaft to the other end of the arcuate slots to eject the idler from the one gear train when the flywheel is driving. The journals for the shaft of the other movable gear are located on the lever arm so that the other movable gear meshes with the other of the gear trains when the lever arm is in the other of its two positions. The arcuate slots are part of molded plastic parts which may be made with the precision of the mold, thereby improving performance and reducing wear from poor tolerances used heretofore.
