摘要: An object of the present invention is to appropriately cope with a tears type mark occurring in, for example, an organic dye write-once disk. A playback signal distortion compensation method is a method for compensating a distortion in a playback signal of data recorded in an optical disk, and includes the steps of: specifying part of a playback signal of a mark having a length equal to or larger than a predetermined length; and, if a specific amplitude level value that will not appear in an ideal signal is detected in the specified part of the playback signal at specific sampling timing, setting the amplitude level values detected at the specific sampling timing and predetermined sampling timing alike to predetermined level values based on the ideal signal. Owing to the compensation of the amplitude levels, a transition of amplitude level values in the signal can be approached to a transition thereof in the ideal signal. Consequently, degradation of a bit error rate can be hindered.

摘要: It is an object of the present invention to improve a margin to meet good recording quality by conducting a realtime correction of a recording condition of a medium with different recording characteristics for inner and outer circumferences. To accomplish the object, control factors for power and a pulse width are independently detected and corrected using an mT pulse having a length of m′T as a pulse for power control and an nT pulse having a length of n′T as a pulse for pulse width control; more specifically, power correction for mT pulse and pulse width correction for nT pulse are conducted in realtime, wherein a recording pulse stream including the mT pulse and nT pulse is irradiated onto a medium 500 by a recording laser beam 20A as well as pits and spaces formed by irradiation of the recording pulse stream are reproduced by a reproducing laser beam 20E to detect the effects of power and pulse width variations independently.

摘要: A method of making a spherical seamless capsule formed by encapsulating a filler material such as a medicine with a capsule shell material shell such as gelatin. A liquid capsule shell material is stored in a tank at a low temperature, and supplied to a concentric multiple nozzle while it temperature is raised to a predetermined temperature upon being gradually heated while being transferred to the concentric multiple nozzle. This prevents deterioration in the capsule shell material and excessive decrease in its viscosity. When the liquid filler material and the capsule shell material flow out of the concentric multiple nozzle, their flows are cut by imparting a vibration thereto, to form a droplet in which the filler material and the capsule shell material are disposed at the center and on the outside, respectively. Such droplets are dropped into a curing liquid while in a dispersed state to cure the surface of the capsule shell material.

摘要: A recordable optical recording medium is provided enabling reliably preventing the deterioration of the recording characteristics, even when stored for a long period of time in an environment of high temperature and humidity. A recordable optical recording medium includes a substrate, and on the substrate, a reflective layer, a recording layer, a protective layer, a light transmission layer in a single layer structure having optical transparency, and a hard coat layer. The recording layer is formed by addition of an additive which functions as reducing agent to an azo metal complex dye having a triazole structure.

摘要: It is an object of the present invention to provide a recording condition closer to an optimum even for a medium unknown to a drive, and more particularly to provide a method especially effective when applied to code identification methods, such as PRML, wherein codes are identified based on amplitude information of an RF signal. In order to accomplish the object, an RF signal received from a photo-receiving part 108 of a pickup is converted into sampling data by an A/D converter 300, and a Viterbi decoder 302 performs code determination using the sampling data. Codes included in a reproduction signal are then determined by synchronizing recording pulses with the reproduction signal using the result of the code determination. Then, the result is used to specify a part to be detected in the codes, and finally an amplitude of the specified part is detected.
