Abstract:
A method to connect piping and a piping connection, having the features of a ring connector configured to snugly fit around an external diameter of a pipe; and a piping shield connected to the ring connector, the piping shield having at least one observation window cut into the shield, wherein the piping shield covers an abutment end of the pipe to be connected, wherein a joint between the ring connector and the piping shield forms a connection.
Abstract:
An electric power generation system is disclosed. The electric power generation system includes a string configured to be pulled; a bobbin configured to rotate when the string is unwound from the bobbin as it is being pulled; an electric power generator having a rotor wherein the rotor is mechanically coupled to the bobbin; and a mass attached to the rotor to store rotational energy and to output rotational energy while the string is being wound around the bobbin as the string is retracted.
Abstract:
A method of coupling a mechanical power source through an electrical power generator to an electrical load is disclosed. A characteristic of an electrical output is measured from the electrical power generator produced during a power generation cycle during which there is a coupling of the mechanical power source through the electrical power generator to the electrical load. The coupling of the mechanical power source is adjusted through the electrical power generator to the electrical load during a subsequent power generation cycle based at least in part on the measured characteristic of the electrical output.
Abstract:
A mobile phone holder includes: a bottom plate having a first coupling part; a top plate having a second coupling part; and a light emitting unit mounted on the top plate. The top plate is connected movably to the bottom plate, and is movable between an unfolded position and a folded position, where the top plate is disposed above the bottom plate and cooperates with the bottom plate to confine a receiving space. The top plate is formed with an access hole in spatial communication with the receiving space when the top plate is disposed at the folded position, thereby permitting insertion of a mobile phone into the receiving space via the access hole. The second coupling part is capable of removable engagement with the first coupling part when the top plate is disposed at the folded position, thereby retaining releasably the top plate at the folded position.

Abstract:
This floormat is different from others floormats available because the use of optical fibers. Fiber optic cables are placed in the channels of the floormat and are connected to an onboard battery charged light box that can be turned on or off by a rocker switch. This creates a soft glowing light design at night.
Abstract:
Dense range data obtained at real-time rates is employed to estimate the pose of an articulated figure. In one approach, the range data is used in combination with a model of connected patches. Each patch is the planar convex hull of two circles, and a recursive procedure is carried out to determine an estimate of pose which most closely correlates to the range data. In another aspect of the invention, the dense range data is used in conjunction with image intensity information to improve pose tracking performance. The range information is used to determine the shape of an object, rather than assume a generic model or estimate structure from motion. In this aspect of the invention, a depth constraint equation, which is a counterpart to the classic brightness change constraint equation, is employed. Both constraints are used to jointly solve for motion estimates.
Abstract:
A heat dissipating device which has a fastening structure and a heat sink is disclosed. The heat sink has a thermal conductive base which has a top surface and two T-shape slots formed at two opposing ends of the top surface. The fastening structure has a pair of brackets. Each of the brackets has a planar plate and a T-shape arm to be inserted into the corresponding T-shape slot. The T-shape arms are hinged with one end of the planar plates, such that when the T-shape arms are inserted into the T-shape slots, the planar plates extend horizontally at a level lower than the top surface of the base. Each of the planar plates has a through hole through which the fastening structure can be mounted to a board by a fastener. Preferably, the heat sink further has a plurality of fins mounted to the top surface of the base. Each of the fins has a notch recessed from a bottom edge thereof. The base preferably has a cross section conformal to the notches of the fins, such that the top portion of the base can be received in the channel formed by the notches.
Abstract:
A cable holder comprises a substantially hollow transparent plastic upper member, a substantially hollow plastic lower member and a retaining member forming a pair of grooves. Each groove holds a protruding cable terminal and section of cable when each end of cable is mounted in each groove. The retaining member fits with the substantially hollow upper or lower member in a recessed position when a user depresses the retaining member into the substantially hollow member.
Abstract:
A track system of projector lamp and electrical connection device assembly thereof, particularly a track for projector lamp of 230V or higher voltage and its electrical connection device, having two longitudinal end sides respectively providing a set of power supply circuit connection system under a same track structure, respectively controlling power on/off, forming a composite electrical connection space and environment, facilitating more projector lamps to select, by means of electrical insert plates of electrical connection device, power supply circuit connection systems and same or different on/off control groups for electrical connection on the track system, to obtain on/off control of selected projector lamps on the track, which is different from a regular single track power supply circuit for merely full on or full off control.
