Abstract: A pulsed laser skin treatment device is for laser induced optical breakdown of hair or skin tissue. A beam scanning system scans the beam to define a circular or arc path, using a rotated prism which implements a lateral shift to the beam. A focusing system at the output side of the beam scanning system focuses the incident light beam into a focal spot in the hair or skin tissue, and it rotates with the prism.

Abstract: The invention relates to a skin treatment device (10) for fractional treatment of the skin (100) of a human being. A radiation source (5) emits a multi-mode laser beam (20) with a superposition (23) of mutually different higher-order laser modes. The multi-mode laser beam is configured by said superposition of different laser modes to simultaneously cause a first plurality of high-intensity zones, where the thermal threshold (TC) for collagen denaturation for the treatment zone (50) of the skin is at least reached, and a second plurality of low-intensity zones where the thermal threshold (TF) for fibroblast stimulation for the treatment zone of the skin is at least reached. This is advantageous for obtaining a skin treatment device with a simple and therefore low-cost fractional laser skin treatment system for combined collagen denaturation and fibroblast stimulation. The skin treatment device is based on non-uniform laser radiation in the form of the multi-mode laser beam.

Abstract: A device for skin treatment includes a non-circular symmetrical outer electrode and at least two inner electrodes surrounded by the outer electrode. An RF generator is arranged to supply an RF voltage between the inner electrodes and the outer electrode. If the outer electrode has two or more axes of symmetry, then each of the inner electrodes is at an equal minimum distance from the outer electrode and an equal distance from a common point of intersection of all axes of symmetry and is positioned, with respect to each of the respective axes of symmetry, either on the respective axis of symmetry or at a distance from the respective axis of symmetry and symmetrically relative to one of the other inner electrodes.

Abstract: The invention provides a non-invasive device (100) for treatment of skin tissue using laser light, and it provides a method and a computer program product. The non-invasive device comprises a light emission system (110) for generating a first laser pulse (130) and a subsequent second laser pulse (150) at a predefined time delay (ΔT) after the first laser pulse. The non-invasive device further comprises an optical system (160) for focusing, in use, the first laser pulse and the second laser pulse at a treatment location (210) inside the skin tissue (200). The first laser pulse comprises a first power density, a first pulse duration and a first pulse energy for initiating a plasma (205) at the treatment location. The subsequent second laser pulse comprises a second power density being lower than the first power density and a second pulse duration being at least 10 times longer than the first pulse duration, and a second pulse energy higher than the first pulse energy for sustaining or intensifying the plasma initiated by the first laser pulse, whereby in use the first laser pulse and the second laser pulse together induce Laser Induced Optical Breakdown at the treatment location.

Abstract: A light based skin treatment device comprises a laser light source for providing a pulsed incident light beam for treating skin by laser induced optical breakdown of hair or skin tissue. In one arrangement, a focusing system has a pre-focusing lens for increasing the convergence of the an incident light beam and a skin contact lens having convex light input and light exit surfaces. The focal spot position is controlled by adjusting a spacing between the pre-focusing lens and the skin contact lens. In another arrangement, there is an adjustable lens system before an adjustable focusing system for providing compensation for aberration in the adjustable focusing system.

The invention further provides a computer program product for controlling the skin treatment device.
