Abstract: When printing is performed on a recording medium of a second size larger than a first size, a control portion, after passage of the recording medium of the first size at a position opposite a recording head before arrival of the recording medium of the second size at the position opposite the recording head, makes the recording head perform preparatory flushing processing in which ink is ejected toward openings from first nozzles that have not been set as target nozzles during printing on the recording medium of the first size but will be newly set as the target nozzles during printing on the recording medium of the second size.

At cleaning of the surface, the cleaning member makes a relative movement to the surface of the sheet conveyance member. The irregular surface is an irregular surface configured to take away the solid substance adhering to the surface of the sheet conveyance member when the cleaning member makes the relative movement.

Abstract: A controller checks ink quantity to be ejected to a specific area on a first side (specific area ink quantity) and determines an ink quantity ratio. The specific area is a strip-shaped area including a side edge on upstream side in a conveying direction of a paper sheet on the first side. When the ink quantity ratio is larger than a reference ink quantity ratio, the controller performs a black conversion process on pixels in a conversion target range. The conversion target range is a range corresponding to the specific area in the image data of the first side. The black conversion process is a process of converting a pixel to which three color inks, i.e. cyan, magenta, and yellow inks are to be ejected into a pixel to which only black ink is to be ejected.

Abstract: A cleaning device includes a cleaning unit, a movement mechanism, and a positioning portion. Abstract: A cleaning device includes a separation and contact mechanism that separates a web from a conveyance roller and brings the web into contact with the conveyance roller, and a controller. The controller includes a conveyed sheet number determination unit and a separation and contact control unit. The conveyed sheet number determination unit monitors a conveyed sheet number of both-surface image forming sheets where image forming processing is applied to both a first surface and a second surface with respect to the sheets conveyed by the conveyance roller, and determines whether or not a cumulative value of the conveyed sheet number has reached a predetermined threshold value. The separation and contact control unit controls the separation and contact mechanism so as to allow the web to be pressed to the conveyance roller by a pressing roller when the cumulative value of the conveyed sheet number has reached the threshold value.

Abstract: An inkjet recording apparatus includes three or more recording heads. The recording heads contain different inks and eject the different inks sequentially on a recording medium. Of the different inks, an ink to be ejected third and an ink to be subsequently ejected each have a pigment content ratio equal to or higher than that of the pigment contained in a corresponding one of inks to be precedently ejected.
