    摘要: A two-step process for producing microspherical pitch or green coke particles having an average diameter of 30-200 .mu.m from finely divided petroleum or coal pitch having a softening point of 60.degree.-220.degree. C. and a fixed carbon content of 40-75 wt %. In the first step the material pitch is fluidized in the stream of a gas substantially inert to the pitch at a temperature of 100.degree.-800.degree. C., the mixed stream is rapidly cooled to 30.degree.-400.degree. C., and microspherical pitch particles are recovered with or without separate recovery of an oily product. In the second step the pitch spheres are further subjected to thermal cracking and polycondensation by use of a fluidized bed at a temperature of 350.degree.-520.degree. C. for a retention time of 1 min. to 3 hours, and microspherical green coke particles and a light cracked oil are recovered. In both steps a pressure between the ordinary level and 10 kg/cm.sup.2 is used.

    摘要: An objective optical system for ATR measurement is provided with a housing, in the interior, an ATR crystal that is transparent in visible light and has a semispherical surface through which light enters; an infrared optical member for irradiating a sample with infrared light at an angle that is equal to or greater than the critical angle; a visible light irradiation optical member which is disposed in the interior of the casing and which irradiates the sample with visible light from an angle less than the critical angle; and an observation optical member which is disposed on a position that is offset from the reflection angle relative to the angle at which the visible light enters the sample and which guides the scattering light from the sample to an observation device. As a consequence, it is possible to clearly observe the position of a sample subjected to ATR measurement.

A portable terminal device carried by a user includes: A location means that locates the current position of the portable terminal device; and a microprocessor that intermittently acquires the result of location from the location means, in which the microprocessor calculates the traveling speed of the portable terminal device based on the result of location done by the location means, and switches the time intervals at which the microprocessor acquires the result of location from the location means in accordance with the traveling speed so that when the result of calculation indicates a small speed, the time intervals become longer than when the result of calculation indicates a large speed.

    摘要: A mini plane has a bar-like handle capable of being held in a hand like a pencil, a cutting blade holder fixed on the bar-like handle at a forward end thereof, and a cutting blade detachably attached to the cutting blade holder. The cutting blade has a flat seating face, a front face opposite the seating face, a slant blade face which is slanted at a lateral end portion of the front face, a positioning side face perpendicular to a cutting edge of the slant blade face, and a through hole which extends between the seating face and the front face for receiving a fixing screw. The cutting blade holder has a mounting face to which the seating face of the cutting blade is attached, a positioning reference side face with which the positioning side face of the cutting blade is contacted, and a fixing tapped hole provided in the mounting face with which a tip portion of the fixing screw passing through the through hole is screw-engaged. The mini plane can produce a specimen of a fixed thickness from a solid material for microscopic analysis.
