摘要: In a discharge lamp apparatus for lighting a discharge lamp, a ballast is disposed outside of a lamp housing of a discharge lamp and is electrically connected to the discharge lamp through a connector. A ballast housing of the ballast is connected to a bottom wall of the lamp housing. In the ballast housing, a ballast circuit board is arranged along a top wall of the ballast housing that is opposed to the lamp housing. Accordingly, it is less likely that the ballast circuit board will be wetted by condensation or water vapor entered the ballast housing. Additionally, a partition wall can be provided in the ballast housing between the connector and the ballast circuit board to block the condensation or water vapor from flowing toward the ballast circuit board.

摘要: A volume control system in a storage area network environment, which is capable of executing volume operation requests in multiple stages, and is also capable of canceling an erroneous volume operation even after the operation has been executed by the user. A volume operation request for executing run commands from the user is analyzed, and parameters for executing the volume operation request are created by a program that operates the storage apparatus. Each of the parameters is provided with an attribute indicating as to whether cancellation is possible or as to when the execution is to be performed. If cancellation of the run command is possible, a parameter for canceling the run command is created simultaneously. The run commands may be executed on the basis of the parameters after verifying by a simulation as to whether or not the various parameters created are correct. At this point, the user may select whether to execute the run commands promptly or in stages. When the user selects executing the run commands in stages, the user registers execution conditions for executing the run commands. In the event the user makes a cancellation request before the registered execution conditions are fulfilled, any of the run commands that has been executed can be cancelled by using cancellation parameters.

摘要: The present invention provides a phosphor of formula A2SiO5:B (A is Y or Gd, and B is Ce or Tb) which is characterized by a surface elemental composition represented by (A+B)/Si ranging from 1.5 to 2.5, wherein A is Y or Gd, and B is Ce or Tb; and method for preparing said phosphor. One embodiment of the method is as follows: a SiO2 powder is mixed with co-precipitate (Y, Ce)2O3 (Ce/Y=0.01), in an amount ranging from 10 to 110 mol % based on the amount of (Y, Ce)2O3, and the mixture is charged into the inner crucible of a double-walled aluminum crucible. After graphite is charged between the inner and outer crucible, the mixture is calcined at 1450° C. for 2 hours to obtain an Y2SiO5:Ce phosphor. The luminous efficiency of a field emission display (FED) prepared employing the Y2SiO5:Ce phosphor was measured at an anode voltage of 600V, an electric power input of 30 Wp-p and a duty rate of 1/240. It is desirable that the relative amount of SiO2 based on the amount of (Y, Ce)2O3 ranges from 40 to 70 mol %, preferably 50 to 60 mol %.

摘要: A method for preparing a gallium nitride phosphor which is capable of emitting light at luminance increased to a degree sufficient to permit the phosphor to be practically used. A dopant compound containing elements reacted with H2 and gasified by heating is arranged on an upstream side in a calcination oven in which NH3 is flowed and a matrix element compound is arranged on the downstream side therein, resulting in calcination of the compound being carried out. This permits GaN to be surrounded with ammonia and the dopant during the calcination, so that the GaN phosphor may be fully doped with the dopant.

摘要: A rotary cultivating apparatus wherein a tiller frame having a rotary tiller unit is laterally shiftable relative to a fixed frame having connecting portions for a vehicle and a power input shaft. A mechanism for laterally shifting the tiller frame comprises a transmission gear member mounted on a transmission shaft for the tiller unit and having an inner gear and an outer gear, a shifting screw rod reversibly rotatable by the transmission gear member through intermediate gears, and an internally threaded member fixed to tiller frame and in screw-thread engagement with the screw rod. One of the intermediate gears is selectively meshable with the transmission gear member to shift the tiller frame laterally in either direction by utilizing the power for driving the tine shaft of the tiller unit.
