Abstract: According to an aspect, there is provided a method for determining a sequence of bus nodes in a multi-drop communication bus. The method includes for each bus node: sending a request to the bus node using an bus node physical identifier to set the bus node to a loopback mode; transmitting at least one signal to the bus node via the multi-drop communication bus; receiving from the bus node a loopback signal caused by the at least one signal; and measuring a roundtrip delay between the at least one signal and the loopback response signal. The method further includes solving the physical order of the bus nodes in the multi-drop communication bus based on the roundtrip delays.

Abstract: An elevator communication system includes a first elevator controller; a second elevator controller; and a first ethernet bus portion connected to the first elevator controller, the first ethernet bus portion having sequential bus segments interconnected by at least one switch. The first ethernet bus portion is arranged in a first elevator shaft. A second ethernet bus portion is connected to the second elevator controller and includes sequential bus segments interconnected by at least one switch. The second ethernet bus portion is arranged in a second elevator shaft. A switch of the first ethernet bus portion and a switch of the second ethernet bus portion are interconnected to enable data transmission between the switch of the first ethernet bus portion and the switch of the second ethernet bus portion. The first elevator controller is communicatively connected to the second elevator controller.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for verifying speed data of an elevator car for overspeed monitoring of the elevator car. The method comprising obtaining at least one continuous speed data of the elevator car at two channels; obtaining a zone speed data of the elevator car within at least one zone of an elevator shaft at two channels, generating a two-channel verified speed information by comparing the said at least one continuous speed data to the zone speed data at least at one channel; generating a control signal, if the comparison indicates a mismatch at least at one channel; and if the comparison indicates a match at each of the at least one channel in which the comparison is provided; the method further comprising comparing the verified speed information at each channel between each other; and generating the control signal, if the reciprocal comparison indicates a mismatch. The invention also relates to a safety control unit and an elevator system performing at least partly the method.

According to the invention the side face of the stator beam facing the mover and/or the counter face of the mover facing the side face of the stator beam comprise(s) a brake surface which form(s) the brake interface of the elevator brake.
