    Abstract: A mobile terminal comprises: a first frame; a second frame configured to make a sliding movement in a first direction with regard to the first frame, or in a second direction opposite to the first direction; a rotating gear coupled to the second frame to be able to rotate around an axis of rotation extending in a third direction perpendicular to the first direction; a flexible display unit comprising a first area coupled to the front surface of the first frame and a second area which is bent while surrounding the rotating gear; a first flexible rack gear extending from the first frame in the first direction, the first flexible rack gear being positioned between the flexible display unit and the second frame and being bent while surrounding the rotating gear; and a second flexible rack gear coupled to the back surface of the flexible display unit so as to engage with the rotating gear and rotate accordingly. When expanded, the mobile terminal can be stably supported, thereby solving the problem of sagging of the flexible display unit, or the problem of an error occurring during a touch input.

    Abstract: Provided is a mobile terminal including a front case, a display disposed at a front surface of the front case, a rear case disposed to oppose a rear surface of the front case, and a finger scan sensor part coupled to the rear surface of the front case. The finger scan sensor part may be configured to sense at least a portion of light incident after passing through the display and the front case among light reflected by an external object.     Abstract: A mobile terminal is provided to address limitations of related art input systems. The mobile terminal includes a display unit, a support bracket including a support part configured to support a backside of the display unit and an extension part extending from the support part, a front window coupled with a front surface of the display unit and extension part, the front window including a rigid material, at least 3 front sensors located at the extension part of the support bracket, each generating a front force signal by receiving a front force applied to a prescribed point of the front window, and a controller measuring an applied point and magnitude of the front force through the front force signal generated by each of the at least 3 front sensors. When a force is applied, a location and magnitude of the force is measured and recognized as a classified input signal.

    Abstract: A mobile terminal and an operating method thereof are provided. The mobile terminal includes a terminal body; and a terminal case coupled to the terminal body to cover at least a front surface of the terminal body, the terminal body comprising: a display unit disposed at the front surface thereof, to display an image; a sensing unit sensing whether the front surface of the display unit is covered by the terminal case; and a controller controlling an operation of the display unit, and the terminal case comprising: a terminal coupling part to which the terminal body is coupled; a front cover part rotatably coupled to the terminal coupling part to cover the front surface of the terminal body and including a window for allowing a light emitted from the display unit to be transmitted; and a pattern part provided at a portion of the front cover part corresponding to a region other than the window, wherein the display unit is defined by an exposed region corresponding to the window and a hidden region corresponding to the region other than the window, wherein when a signal to turn on the display unit is input in a state where the front cover part covers the front surface of the display unit, the controller is configured to display a user interface at least in the hidden region, to enable a user input through a manipulation of the pattern part.
