摘要: A heating element of a fluid ejection device includes an insulative layer, a resistor portion interposed between and spaced apart from a pair of conductive portions, and an upper structure defining a fluid chamber above the resistor portion. The insulative layer defines a shoulder portion adjacent a side edge of the resistor portion, the shoulder portion vertically spaced below a top surface of the resistor portion by a distance of no more than twice a thickness of the resistor portion.

摘要: Described are purified extracellular matrix materials isolated from the abdominal wall of animals and including the subserous fascia layer of the abdominal wall. Such medical materials can find use in treating damaged tissue and in certain aspects in providing tissue support for the repair of hernias. Related methods of manufacture and use are also described.

摘要: The present invention provides, in certain aspects, medical systems that are useful for applying bolster material to patient tissue. One such system includes a surgical fastening apparatus that is comprised of a first arm having a first arm working surface; and a cutting element operable along a cutting path. This system also includes at least one piece of bolster material having a portion received in the cutting path, and a retaining element retaining the at least one piece of bolster material in association with the first arm working surface, wherein the retaining element has one or more segments received in the cutting path and includes portions residing between the first arm working surface and the at least one piece of bolster material. The invention also provides medical devices that are useful for applying bolster materials to surgical fastening apparatuses, as well as methods for preparing and using such devices.

摘要: Described are medical products including an adhesive containing a polypeptide component such as gelatin and a tackiness-providing polyhydroxy compound, such as at least one compound selected from the group consisting of glycerin and fructose. Such medical products can find use as a bolster material for use in conjunction with a surgical fastening device such as a stapler. Other medical applications utilizing a medical product of the invention include tissue repair and pharmaceutical delivery to a desired location. Related methods of manufacture and use are also described.

摘要: Information is stored in temporary storage and subsequently transferred to a memory over a bus. The temporary storage is provided with a plurality of entries each of which has a selected size that is smaller than a size of the bus. Information that is designated for a common area of the memory is stored in different entries, and the different entries are linked. Before being transferred to memory, the information from linked entries is assembled. The assembled information is then transferred over the bus to memory. Embodiments of the temporary storage include a write queue and a write buffer.
