    摘要: Apparatuses to be worn by users proximate their ankles to manage pressure and swelling, the apparatus including a wrap shaped to conform to a portion of a foot and a lower leg of the user. In some examples, the wrap defines a compressible multiple layer construction including at least one layer that including a compressible foam, a channel sized to receive a portion of the foot and the lower leg, a substantially stretchable flap sized to extend across the channel when the foot and the lower leg are positioned within the channel, a leg portion, and a foot portion, wherein the leg portion may be flexibly angled from the foot portion a bandaged area including the user's ankles. In some examples, the wrap is configured to be fitted around a portion of the user's foot and lower leg to compress at the ankle area to a selected barrier pressure.

    摘要: A self-protecting, fire-inhibiting structure including wall structure formed of an elastomeric material having an outwardly exposed surface which is at risk for exposure to the heat of fire, and within that wall structure, a distributed population of intumescence elements. Associated with such structure is a fire-inhibition method for protecting a target structure having a dynamic-motion surface, including the steps of (a) applying an elastomeric, fire-resistant coating having a heat-responsive growth nature to such a surface with the applied coating having an outer side, and (b), on the occurrence of the outer side of that coating becoming exposed to the heat of fire, invoking the heat-responsive growth nature of the coating progressively to grow the coating's thickness as temperature rise within the coating progresses inwardly from the coating's outer side.

    摘要: A ventilating and particle-filtering airflow methodology for managing the flow of air to the electrical sliding-contact zone of an on-board aircraft (vehicle) electrical generator. Conduit structure collects intaken air during aircraft (vehicle) engine operation, filters this air to capture and prevent the passage of particles, and directs filtered airflow to that brush region through a close-coupled fluid-flow connection which closes upon and substantially isolates (in terms of incoming airflow) that region. Water drainage is provided for in a region near where filtering takes place. The filtered airflow is substantially the only airflow admitted to this protected region.

    摘要: A self load-balancing, headset-wearing accommodating helmet strap system useable with a helmet shell having front, rear and opposite lateral sides, and including (a) a chin-strap cinching subsystem having (1) a pair of opposite-side, elongate, flexible, lateral strap elements intended for use on opposite lateral sides of such a helmet shell, and (2) an elongate chin-engaging component with opposite ends slideably mounted on and between the opposite ends of different ones of the lateral strap elements, and (b), for each of the lateral strap elements, a pair of attaching devices, with one such device being designed for attaching one end of a lateral strap element adjacent an associated front lateral side of a helmet shell, and the other attaching device being designed for attaching the other end of the same lateral strap element adjacent an associated rear lateral side of the helmet shell.
