    摘要: A pad assembly for a helmet comprises a pad formed of a first material and a support structure of a second material that is formed on and bonded to the pad by means of an additive manufacturing process. The first material and the second material being selected to bond together when the support structure is formed on the pad during the additive manufacturing process. In one example the pad assembly comprises a crescent-shaped conformal strip with a flange that is received in a corresponding groove in the helmet. In another example, the pad assembly comprises a plate having posts formed thereon for engaging corresponding holes formed in the helmet. Also disclosed is a helmet including a pad assembly.

    摘要: A helmet includes a helmet body and right and left cheek pads arranged inside the helmet body. The cheek pads each include a first bottom portion including a first outer surface located downward from a lower edge of the helmet body and a second bottom portion including a second outer surface located rearward from the first bottom portion. The first outer surface and the second outer surface form a wearing opening of the helmet and are negative pressure generating surfaces configured to generate a downforce acting on the helmet by having the first outer surface located downward from the second outer surface. The first bottom portion and the second bottom portion are resilient so as to enlarge the wearing opening when receiving force for enlarging the wearing opening and reduce the wearing opening in size when the force is removed.

The outer liner comprises an interior surface and the inner liner comprises an exterior surface. The inner liner is composed of an elastically deformable material. A majority of the interior surface of the outer liner and a majority of the exterior surface of the inner liner are both substantially parallel to a pseudo-spherical surface having a coronal cross section that is circular with a first radius and a sagittal cross section that is circular with a second radius different from the first radius. The inner liner is elastically deformable along the interior surface of the outer liner in response to rotation of the outer liner relative to the inner liner caused by an impact to the helmet.
