    摘要: A method of operating a Reliable Transmission Protocol switch node to provide an IPTV multicast. IP packets transporting an encrypted media stream are received from an IPTV Head-end. The media stream contains complete image frames. Unencrypted identifiers identifying packets containing complete image frame data are also received. The received packets are stored in a buffer, and on receipt of a request from a media renderer to provide the IPTV multicast, the packet(s) containing the last complete image frame in the media stream and all subsequent packets are sent to the media renderer.

    摘要: A method and nodes in a communication network for controlling multi-cast delivery of files, wherein the multi-cast delivery is adapted to reduce the amount of required uni-cast file deliveries in the communication network. A browser of an IPTV Terminating Function requiring a file interrogates a cache of the IFT for the file content before a uni-cast request for file delivery is sent to an Application Service Platform. The files stored in the cache have been previously delivered to the IFT via the proposed multi-cast mechanism. If the file content is not stored in the cache, a uni-cast request is sent to the ASP. Each uni-cast request is also forwarded to a Multi-Cast Controller, which determines whether the requested file should be sent also to a plurality of additional IFTs on a multi-cast channel. At each IFT, listening to the multi-cast channel, the received content can be handled selectively according to a filtering mechanism, and a received file may, e.g. be stored in the cache for later retrieval.

    摘要: This invention concerns a process and a system for providing location information for a wireless unit in a wireless network to a location-based service provider, using a data network. In particular, the location information is provided to the location-based service provider without necessarily providing the identity of wireless unit, e.g., a subscriber's wireless identification number, to the service provider. In this regard, a subscriber's identification number may be hidden from the positioning service provider via a process in which an alias is used instead of the subscriber's normal identity.     摘要: A method and arrangement in a media equipment (300) for enabling instant and uninterrupted layout of a media object when selected by a user. The media equipment obtains (3:1) information on available bandwidth for media transfer and receives (3:2) references to a selection of offered media objects, e.g. from an IPlV server (302). The media equipment downloads and pre-buffers (3:4) opening parts of at least some of the media objects from one or more content servers (304) according to the available bandwidth for media transfer. A list of the offered media objects is displayed (3:5), and as soon as the user selects a pre-buffered media object from the displayed list, playout of the pre-buffered opening part of the selected media object is started (3:7). The remaining part of the media object is also downloaded (3:8) during continued playout. Thereby, the pre-buffered media objects can be played out immediately and without interruption, and still, not more than necessary media data can be pre-buffered at the media equipment.
