The electronic program guide information includes live video streams and/or snapshot pictures from programs that are presently being broadcast on a plurality of broadcast channels. A graphical arrangement of a plurality of objects is generated on the display device. Each of the objects is associated with a different one of the broadcast channels. The live video stream and/or the snapshot picture from the program that is presently being broadcast on the associated broadcast channel is displayed on a defined surface of each of the associated objects. A three-dimensional graphical arrangement may be generated from the objects. Each of the objects may extend with a respective virtual depth into the display device that is controlled to indicate to a user how much time remains in the program that is presently being broadcast on the associated broadcast channel. During an ongoing communication session, at least one client terminal utilizes services provided via a network node, and initial quality of service parameters are used. In the process of responding to a content request originating from the client terminal, it is determined if a delivery of the response to the content request would benefit from a modification of quality of service parameters. If the modification is determined to be beneficiary, a modification 520 of quality of service parameters for use in the response to the content request is initiated.

A method and arrangement for enabling access to a home device in a private network from a remote device located outside the private network. The private network includes a multimedia gateway connected to a multimedia service network. A session invite message is sent from the remote device to the multimedia gateway. In response, connection parameters of a residential gateway in the private network are sent to the remote device, which are associated with the selected home device if a home device identification was included in the received message, or with a proxy function in the multimedia gateway capable of providing home device information, if no such identification was included in the received message. In this way, home devices in the private network can be easily and safely accessed remotely.

In a mobile communication system (T1) a time interval selection means (TISM) in a network control means (RNC) determines a time interval and sends an indication about this time interval to a subscriber station (MS) in a time interval indication signal. A time interval signal determining means (TISDM) in the subscriber station (MS) detects the time interval and an IF measurement means (IFMM) carries out inter-frequency/inter-system measurements in the detected time interval specified by the network control means (RNC). In this time interval the temporary reduction of the quality of service QoS on the communication connection (CC) is planed by the network control means (RNC). However, independent as to whether a delay-sensitive or loss-sensitive data transmission is carried out, the network control means (RNC) can make provisions in order to compensate the temporary reduction of the quality of service. Such procedure is superior to performing IF measurements in an idle time interval of a compressed time slot in which a temporary degradation of the quality of service must always be accepted due to a compressed mode of operation.

The present invention relates to a method and arrangements for controlling transmission of data bits in a bit transfer session for transmitting data information from an application server (2) to a client (1), said bit transfer session involving bit transfer over a wireless communications link by means of a transport protocol with a flow control mechanism. According to the present invention a radio resource managing unit (6) sends information regarding the bandwidth on the wireless link that the bit transfer session currently is allowed to use. This feedback information from the radio resource managing unit is used to set and update flow control parameters continuously throughout the session. Thereby optimization of the flow control parameters is facilitated, which makes it possible to enhance the end-user QoS and provide more efficient use of available radio resources.
