    摘要: A high intensity discharge lighting assembly capable of instant ON/OFF operation with a lamp housing having therein an HID lamp, an instant ON igniter circuit and lamp driver circuitry. The housing may have a screw in base or may be configured for fixed mounting on an open receptacle box. In one version, a non-replaceable HID lamp has leads permanently connected to the instant ON circuitry. In another version, the HID lamp has an integral base with pins which are plugged in to a socket provided in the housing.

    摘要: The invention relates to an electron emission material for use in fluorescent lamps that releases a significantly reduced amount of decomposition material, predominantly CO2, during in-lamp heat-treatment. Consequently, there is a significant reduction in the amount of electrode decomposition-related contaminants in the lamp. In addition, the emission material of the invention requires a much lower temperature in-lamp heat-treatment during manufacturing than that of conventional lamps of the same type. The invention, while described herein for use primarily with fluorescent lamps, has broader application to any device where the primary means of electron emission is of the thermionic type.

    摘要: An electrodeless fluorescent reflector lamp includes a housing arrangement having a threaded screw base for receiving line power and a lamp envelope mounted on the housing arrangement. A ballast circuit is disposed within the housing arrangement and is effective for converting line power into an RF signal which excites a fill contained within the lamp envelope to a discharge state thereby resulting in the production of visible light. The lamp envelope is constructed having an upper curved face portion and a lower tapered portion which extends partly within the housing. A reflective coating is applied to the lower tapered portion of the lamp envelope. A phosphor coating distribution is applied to the interior surface of the lamp envelope in a manner so as to maximize the light output from the reflector lamp. The phosphor coating distribution is such that a first thickness of phosphor material is disposed on the lower tapered portion whereas a second thickness of phosphor material is applied to the upper curved face portion of the lamp envelope. The thickness of the phosphor material applied to the lower tapered portion is substantially greater than that applied to the upper curved face portion thereby resulting in improved light output characteristics for the reflector lamp.
