摘要： To conserve relatively expensive printing ribbon, in particular a thermal transfer ribbon, when a portion of the medium which is not to be printed, e.g. the space between two labels, passes through the printing area, after the end of the printing process for a first label or similar item, the thermal transfer ribbon is stopped, and simultaneously the application force of the print head, in particular of the thermal print head, against the counterpressure roller is neutralized, and when the next label or similar item to be printed arrives in the printing area, the pressure on the thermal print head is reactivated, and simultaneously the advance of the thermal transfer ribbon is resumed, whereby the controlled stopping of the thermal transfer ribbon is accomplished by means of a stopping device which stops the first spool from which the ribbon is unwound, and by means of a slip clutch which makes possible the simultaneous stopping of the second spool which winds up the ribbon, in spite of the fact that the drive motor continues to run.

摘要： A hierarchially arranged memory system is described for a data processing system having virtual addressing. A three-level working memory is provided, along with an auxiliary memory, in a data processing system containing a secondary buffer between the main memory and a rapid buffer memory. Whereas the main memory contains all actual storage areas, i.e. the memory pages of the inactive processes which were required for the processing period just passed, the actual storage area for the successor process, independent from the operating system, is set independently by its own microprocessor.

摘要： A tack device for holding plaque against blood vessel walls in treating atherosclerotic occlusive disease is formed as a thin, annular band of durable, flexible material having a plurality of focal elevating elements on its outer annular periphery for holding loose plaque under a spring or other expansion force against a blood vessel wall. The focal elevating elements are designed to exert a holding force on a plaque position while minimizing the amount of material surface area in contact with the plaque or blood vessel wall and reducing the potential of friction with the intraluminal surface. This approach offers clinicians the ability to perform a minimally invasive post-angioplasty treatment and produce a stent-like result without using a stent.
