Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a control message including a first parameter and a second parameter. The first parameter may identify a first uplink control channel resource set for a first type of UE. The second parameter may identify a second uplink control channel resource set for a second type of UE. In some cases, a UE may receive the control message before receiving configuration information identifying a uplink control channel resource configuration. In some cases, a UE may optionally select an uplink control channel resource set based at least in part on the control message and a type of the UE. Also, a UE may transmit on an uplink using a communication configuration associated with the selected uplink control channel resource set. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to transmitting and receiving a group wake-up signal (WUS) in conjunction with an ungrouped WUS. A base station may group one or more UEs in a UE group, while other UEs may not be assigned to a UE group. The configuration of WUS resources and WUS sequences for grouped UEs and other UEs is a challenge. The base station may transmit, to one or more UEs in the UE group, a resource allocation of a group WUS resource within a set of WUS resources associated with a paging occasion that is assigned to the one or more UEs in the UE group. A UE, after receiving the resource allocation, may determine a location of the group WUS resource within the set of WUS resources. The UE may monitor for a group WUS at the determined location in the resource allocation of the group WUS resource.

Abstract: Support for multicast and broadcast data transmissions and acknowledgement feedback for the transmissions are being considered in 5G new radio (NR). Resource allocation techniques are provided to allocate uplink control channel resources for acknowledgement of downlink multicast/broadcast (MC/BC) data transmissions. An apparatus, such as a user equipment, receives a multicast/broadcast (MC/BC) configuration indicating a first physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resource set for transmitting MC/BC acknowledgment (ACK)/negative acknowledgment (NACK), and a unicast configuration indicating a second PUCCH resource set for transmitting unicast ACK/NACK feedback. The apparatus also receives MC/BC data from a base station. The apparatus determines a first PUCCH resource from the first PUCCH resource set for transmitting MC/BC ACK/NACK feedback in response to the received MC/BC data and based on the received MC/BC configuration. The apparatus transmits the MC/BC ACK/NACK feedback to the base station in the determined first PUCCH resource.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to transmitting and receiving improved wake-up signals (WUS) between a base station and a user equipment (UE). The UE can receive a configuration for discontinuous reception (DRX) or extended DRX (eDRX). The UE can also determine whether to monitor for a WUS during a DRX WUS time resource or an eDRX WUS time resource. In some aspects, the UE can determine whether to monitor for the WUS during the DRX WUS time resource or the eDRX WUS time resource based on a duration of a DRX time gap between DRX WUS resources and a paging occasion and an eDRX time gap between eDRX WUS resources and the paging occasion. The base station can configure the UE for DRX or eDRX. The base station can also determine whether to transmit a WUS during a DRX WUS time resource or an eDRX WUS time resource.

Abstract: A wakeup signal (WUS) group that may be divided into WUS sub-groups, criteria or metrics for dividing the WUS group into a set of WUS sub-groups, and signaling or messaging to support the division of the WUS group into the set of WUS sub-groups are provided. For example, a set of UEs may be divided into WUS sub-groups based at least in part on respective frequencies of occurrence of paging occasions for the set of UEs (e.g., based at least in part on traffic type, observations regarding past paging occasions, predictions regarding future paging occasions, and/or the like) and/or based at least in part on other considerations. Furthermore, some techniques and apparatuses described herein provide for the mapping of network device-level WUS sub-groups (e.g., supported by a network device such as an MME) to base station-level WUS sub-groups (e.g., supported by a base station).

Abstract: Some techniques and apparatuses, described herein, provide for resource allocation to achieve frequency diversity, time diversity, and/or spatial diversity for wakeup signals destined to two or more UE groups by transmitting the wakeup signals according to respective resource patterns associated with the two or more UE groups. Additionally, some techniques and apparatuses described herein provide for resource allocation to achieve spatial diversity for wakeup signals for a single UE group by transmitting the wakeup signals using two or more antenna ports according to respective resource patterns associated with the two or more antenna ports. Furthermore, some techniques and apparatuses described herein provide configurations for wakeup signals based at least in part on delays or gaps, repetitious communications, synchronization in accordance with a power level of the wakeup signal, and the like.

LOCATION REPORTING PROCEDURES COMPRISING HEIGHT INFORMATION FOR AERIAL USER EQUIPMENT

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for enhancing location reporting procedures to include height information of a user equipment (UE), such as an aerial UE. The location reporting procedures may be between a core network entity and an access network entity. Due to the differences in coverage regions between areal cells and terrestrial cells, aerial UEs may not fully rely on cell identifiers (IDs) as a primary location indicator due to its ambiguity (e.g., as the aerial UEs may use a side-lobe or up-tilted beam of a far-away cell that provides a cell ID while its conventional geographical location belongs to another, closer cell). Aspects of the present disclosure provides techniques for enhancing the location reporting procedures for the aerial UEs to prevent such potential errors in location reporting.
