Abstract: Static content, such as text, an audio clip, an image, or a video clip, may be forwarded to users in a communication, e.g., a message, e-mail, social media post, social chat message, or made available in a blog post, or webpage. It is determined whether time-sensitive information included in that content will be updated automatically. If so, then updated information is obtained, and used to modify the time-sensitive information, e.g., by replacing and/or supplementing the time-sensitive information. If it is not determined that the time-sensitive information will be updated automatically, then the content may be modified by adding an indication that the time-sensitive information is, or may be, outdated, or removing the time-sensitive information from the content. The unmodified content may, optionally, be forwarded to the other users together with the modified content. Feedback from the other users may be used to inform future content modifications.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing fast forwarding recommendations based on the user's consumption history are disclosed. The consumption history includes data relating to attributes that were previously rewinded and watched and those that were skipped and forwarded. It also includes scores for attributes that were present and absent in a portion that was previously rewinded or forwarded. A score is assigned to the attributes and used for determining a consumption pattern. If the consumption pattern indicates that the user previously rewinded and watched the attribute, then a recommendation not to skip an upcoming portion that includes the attribute is provided. A graphical timeline that depicts the amount of time saved by skipping the portion of the media asset with the attribute is also provided.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for selectively replaying interrupted segments of media content that are important for understanding a storyline of the media content. In response to detecting noise in a media presentation environment where a current segment is being played, it is determined whether the current segment is important. Responsive to the determination that the current segment is important, a complexity score of the audio component of the current segment is determined and a replay threshold is determined based on the complexity score. Responsive to the determination that the detected noise level is greater than the replay threshold, the current segment is replayed from the beginning instead of continuing to play the media content.

Abstract: The present disclosure is generally directed to media systems configured to receive and play media assets. In particular, methods and systems are provided for improved media asset session continuity across such media systems. Systems and methods are provided herein for continuing media asset sessions across media systems or media devices in a way designed to minimize manual intervention, for example, by determining a likelihood (e.g., a probability) of a user requesting media session continuation of an ongoing media asset or a segment thereof across two or more devices.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing speech transcription in a speech processing system are disclosed. A first transcription of a first utterance is received. In response to receiving an indication of an erroneous transcribed word in the first transcription, a control circuitry automatically activates an audio receiver for receiving a second utterance. In response to receiving the second utterance, an audio file of the second utterance and an indication of a location of the erroneous transcribed word within the first transcription is transmitted to a speech recognition system for a second transcription of the second utterance. Subsequently, the erroneous transcribed word in the first transcription is replaced with a transcribed word from the second transcription.

Abstract: Systems and associated methods are described for providing media content. The system retrieves from memory a media consumption pattern profile, which includes first and second media characteristics associated as a pattern of media consumption and a time duration indicating how long a first media content item having the first media characteristic was output by a user device before the user device changed to outputting a second media content item having the second media characteristic. The system outputs a media content item onto the user device. In response to detecting the media content item has the first media characteristic and has been output for the time duration, the system outputs a third media content item having the first and second media characteristics onto the user device and after outputting the third media content item, outputs a fourth media content item having the second media characteristic onto the user device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying certain objects within 360-degree content for user interaction. Objects within 360-degree content may be identified, and the corresponding segments of 360-degree content may be assigned a score according to how likely they may be to meet certain criteria, such as the likelihood that the user may interact with the object or its segment. Scores may be assigned in any manner, such as with reference to retrieved user information. In highly scored segments, users may be encouraged to pause the content at that segment, and interact with its objects. Encouragement may take any form, such as highlighting the segment or some component thereof. Likewise, interaction may also take any form, such as the allowing the user to alter the appearance of one or more segment objects in some way. In this manner, increased user interaction with 360-degree video is allowed, increasing viewer interest and engagement.
