摘要： An apparatus for measuring the intensity of light reflected from a scene along an optical path includes a photoelectric cell, an optical lens and a light-attenuating device that has a gradation of opacity along one dimension that extends generally transversely to the optical path. The device may be moved transversely of the optical path to vary the average amount of light impinging upon the cell. The cell has a gradation of sensitivity to light along a dimension that extends generally transversely of the optical path. The sensitivity varies along the cell dimension and the cell is so disposed so as to be correspondingly more sensitive to light that has passed through more opaque portions of the light attenuating device and less sensitive to light that has passed through less opaque portions of the light attenuating device. The apparatus may be incorporated in a photographic camera and may be coupled to the camera's exposure control mechanism.

摘要： A camera body houses a rotatable pinion disposed in engagement with a fixed rack for translation along the rack as the pinion is rotated. A manipulatable portion of the pinion exteriorly projects through a slot in the camera body, enabling the pinion to be manually rotated. A slide member rotatably supports the pinion and is supported within the camera body for translation by the rotated pinion in adjacent overlapping relation to the slot. In this way, the slide member maintains the slot substantially closed to dirt or other foreign matter during the various stages of rotation of the pinion. A control element, adjustably movable for focusing or exposure control, is operatively coupled to the slide member for movement by the slide member in response to manual rotation of the pinion. A visual indicator on the slide member is viewable through a window in the camera body for indicating the proper setting of the control element.

The identifier points to a group of filter effects. Each filter effect has a preassigned digital modification. The modifications are not remedial for the respective filter effects. One of the filter effects is detected in the digital image. Responsive to the detecting of that filter effect, the preassigned digital modification is applied to the digital image.

The taking lens system transmits a scene image through the exposure opening. A screener is mounted to the body. The screener is movable, relative to the exposure frame, between a primary position and a plurality of different secondary positions. The screener shadows the exposure frame differently in each secondary position. The exposure frame is unshaded when the screener is in the primary position.

摘要： A photofinishing system includes film units, a remote look-up table, and photofinishing apparatus. The photofinishing apparatus has a reader to read identifiers on the film units, a communicator to interface with the look-up table to poll the table for photofinishing parameters for the film units, and a processor that generates digital images responsive to the photofinishing parameters. In a method, a film unit containing a plurality of captured images is received. A remote look-up table having a logical memory unit uniquely associated with the film unit is accessed. The logical memory unit designates a plurality of photofinishing parameters for the film unit. The film unit is processed responsive to the photofinishing parameters. Information about the processing of the film unit is recorded in the logical memory unit.

摘要： A camera for use with a film cassette having a light lock movable to be closed after an exposed filmstrip is wound into the cassette, comprises a chamber for the cassette from which the cassette can be removed, and a driver movable to close the light lock before the cassette is removed from the chamber. An ingress opening to the chamber is provided to admit an insertion tool into the chamber to push the cassette out of the chamber. A cover is movable relative to the ingress opening to uncover the ingress opening after the driver is moved to close the light lock, to permit the insertion tool to be moved through the ingress opening to push the cassette out of the chamber when the light lock is closed. Preferably, a film wind thumbwheel is manually rotatable to wind the exposed filmstrip including a trailing film end portion into the cassette and is coupled with the driver after the trailing film end portion is wound into the cassette to allow the thumbwheel to move the driver to close the light lock when the thumbwheel is further rotated.

摘要： A camera for use with a film cassette having a movable light lock supported within a film egress/ingress slot to be moved closed after a filmstrip is wound into the cassette, comprises a cassette-receiving chamber, and a movable driver to be moved to close the light lock before the cassette is removed from the chamber. An exterior ingress opening to the chamber is provided to admit an insertion tool into the chamber to push the cassette out of the chamber. The driver has a weakened portion and is located for the tool to push the driver to force the cassette out of the chamber. Fixed means is located to break the weakened portion during movement of the driver, whereby the camera will be disabled.
