    Abstract: A piston assembly is provided for a human-powered vehicle. The piston assembly includes a main body, a primary seal and a secondary seal. The main body is configured to be movable from a rest position to an actuated position along an actuation direction in a cylinder bore. The primary seal includes a primary seal body arranged on the main body, the primary seal body being made of the first seal material. The secondary seal includes a secondary seal body arranged on the main body at upstream of the primary seal with respect to the actuation direction. The secondary seal body is made of a second seal material that is more elastic than the first seal material.

The base member includes a first end portion, a second end portion, and an accommodating structure. The first end portion is configured to be coupled to a handlebar. The second end portion is opposite to the first end portion in the longitudinal direction. The accommodating structure is provided to the second end portion. The operating member is pivotally coupled to the base member about a pivot axis. The accommodating structure is disposed at a location which is the farthest from the first end portion in the second end portion along the longitudinal direction as viewed along the pivot axis. The accommodating structure includes an accommodating part configured to accommodate at least one of a power supply and circuitry.

    Abstract: A hydraulic operating device for a small vehicle including a bicycle comprises a base member, a mounting structure, an operating member, and a piston. The base member includes a cylinder bore having a cylinder axis. The mounting structure defines a mounting axis linearly extending along the handlebar in a mounting state where the base member is mounted on a handlebar with the mounting structure. The operating member is pivotally coupled to the base member about a first pivot axis between a rest position and an operated position. The cylinder axis is non-perpendicular to the mounting axis as viewed along the first pivot axis in the mounting state. The piston is movably provided in the cylinder bore. The piston is coupled to the operating member to be pulled in response to a pivotal movement of the operating member from the rest position to the operated position.

The operating member is pivotally mounted to the bracket about a first axis. The actuation cam is pivotally mounted to the bracket about a second axis. The biasing element includes a coil portion disposed around a third axis that is offset from the first axis. The biasing element biases the operating member relative to the bracket about the first axis toward the actuation cam. The biasing element biases the actuation cam relative to the bracket about the second axis toward the operating member.

The reservoir bore is connected to the cylinder bore and disposed above the cylinder bore in a mounting state where the bicycle operating device is mounted to the bicycle body. At least one of the cylinder bore and the reservoir tank is integrally provided with the base member.
