Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes providing a user an electronic form with a field associated, processing an image of the object that the user submitted via a user-interactive control of the form to identify physical features of the object, using the identified physical features to determine two or more possible types of the object, determining confidence levels associated with the possible type(s), providing to the user indications of the possible type(s) and a request for confirmation of a determined type of the object, and, in response to receiving confirmation of the determined type from the user, causing the client device to automatically populate the field of the electronic form in accordance with the determined type.

Abstract: In a computer-implemented method, one or more digital aerial images of a property of a current or potential policyholder may be received. The digital aerial image(s) may be processed to determine one or more features of the property, including one or more features of a tree. A predicted location of roots of the tree is determined based upon the tree feature(s). The property feature(s) is/are analyzed to determine a risk of damage to a structure located on the property, by analyzing at least the predicted location of roots of the tree to determine a risk of damage to a foundation of the structure. Based at least in part on this risk, a risk output is generated that includes an indication of whether action should be taken to mitigate the risk of damage and/or whether insurance coverage should be offered, and/or includes a measure of the risk of damage.

Abstract: A system for enhanced personal property replacement (i) builds a virtual inventory of personal belongings, such as by performing object recognition techniques on mobile device digital images with the customer's permission or affirmative consent; (ii) receives user preferences transmitted from their mobile device; (iii) receives a request from the user to handle an insurance claim after an insurance-related event; (iv) determines items to purchase for the user based upon the user preferences, and/or the extent of damage; and/or (v) transmits, to a retailer remote server a virtual order for the items to be delivered to the user at a temporary (hotel) or permanent (home) address. Insurance claim monies may be used to pay for the items. As a result, after an event (e.g., fire, tornado, hurricane), household or other goods may be automatically purchased and delivered to a customer to alleviate the negative impact of the event on their life.

Abstract: An augmented reality (AR) system for generating and displaying an enhanced situation visualization (ESV) is provided. The AR system may include an ESV computing device, a user computing device operated by a user and a reference database. The user computing device may transmit a reference request message to the ESV device, the reference request message including an image representative of a current view of a user. The ESV computing device may determine a subject of the image, retrieve reference information associated with the subject from the reference database, and determine situation information specific to the subject. The reference and situation information may be displayed on the user computing device to provide an ESV of the subject. The ESV may be used for insurance-related activities, such as handling, adjusting, and/or generating homeowner's insurance claims, and/or for instructional guidance.

Abstract: In a computer-implemented method, an insurance policyholder may be provided an electronic insurance form including at least a first field, the first field being associated with a query for which an accurate response depends on a type of an object associated with the insurance policyholder. An image of the object may be received. The image of the object may be processed according to an object recognition technique to identify at least one characteristic of the image of the object. The identified characteristic(s) may be used to determine the type of the object, and the insurance policyholder may be provided an indication of the determined type of the object to facilitate manual or automatic entry of accurate information in the first field. Additionally or alternatively, the indication of the determined type of the object may be automatically entered in the first field. An insurance policy or quote may be adjusted accordingly.
