Abstract: A method of operating a display apparatus includes the following steps: calculating a first color reference luminance ratio, a second color reference luminance ratio, and a third color reference luminance ratio for a reference grayscale value; calculating first color target luminance ratios, second color target luminance ratios, and third color target luminance ratios for adjustment target grayscale values; generating first adjustment values, second adjustment values, and third adjustment values based on the first, second, and third color reference luminance ratios and the first, second, and third color target luminance ratios; performing gamma conversions of first, second and third colors using the first, second, and third adjustment values for the adjustment target grayscale values; using results of the gamma conversions to generate data voltages; and using the data voltage and a display panel of the display apparatus to emit or transmit light for displaying an image.

Abstract: An organic light emitting diode (“OLED”) display device, which operates in a variable frame mode, includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels, a power management circuit which supplies a power supply voltage to the plurality of pixels, and a controller which determines a panel load, a first representative gray level and a second representative gray level by analyzing input image data, determines an initial level of the power supply voltage based on the panel load and the first representative gray level, and determines a step level of the power supply voltage based on the panel load and the second representative gray level. The power management circuit generates the power supply voltage having the initial level during an active period, and gradually increases a voltage level of the power supply voltage from the initial level based on the step level during a variable blank period.

Abstract: A display device includes a switch, an initialization line, a capacitor, a data line, a first transistor, a second transistor, a driving transistor, and a diode. The capacitor includes a first electrode and a second electrode. To the first electrode through at least the initialization line, the switch may output a first voltage in a first period of a horizontal time and may output a second voltage unequal to the first voltage in a second period of the horizontal time. The first transistor may connect the data line to the first electrode in response to a scan signal. The driving transistor may provide a driving current based on a voltage of the first electrode. The second transistor may connect the initialization line to the second electrode in response to an initialization signal. The diode may emit light based on the driving current.
