    Abstract: A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes transmitting, to a server, location information of the UE and a message for requesting a parameter related to one or more first anchor trees corresponding to a location of the UE, in response to the message for requesting the parameter, receiving, from the server, the parameter related to the one or more first anchor trees, based on the received parameter and the location information, identifying at least one second anchor tree, on which an AR content is renderable, among the one or more first anchor trees, requesting the server for an AR content corresponding to the identified at least one second anchor tree, receiving the requested AR content from the server, and rendering the received AR content on the at least one second anchor tree.

    Abstract: A communication technique for merging, with an IoT technology, a 5G communication system for supporting a data transmission rate higher than that of a 4G system is provided. The communication technique can be applied to an intelligent service (for example, smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car or connected car, health care, digital education, retail business, and security and safety-related services, and the like) on the basis of a 5G communication technology and an IoT-related technology. A method for processing a 360-degree image is provided. The method includes determining a three-dimensional (3D) model for mapping a 360-degree image; determining a partition size for the 360-degree image; determining a rotational angle for each of the x, y, and z axes of the 360-degree image; determining an interpolation method to be applied when mapping the 360-degree image to a two-dimensional (2D) image; and converting the 360-degree image into the 2D image.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a communication apparatus and method for supporting a forward error correction scheme in a communication system. To this end, by means of a generation mode among a plurality of generation modes (ssbg_mode #0, #1, #2), a source symbol block having a plurality of source symbols is generated by using a source packet block having a plurality of source packets, and a repair symbol block for the generated source symbol block is generated by means of a forward error correction (FEC) scheme among a plurality of FEC schemes (FEC payload ID mode 0, FEC payload ID mode 1). A first FEC scheme (FEC payload ID mode 1) is applied to generate the repair symbol block, and in response to an occurrence of a discontinuity in packet sequence numbers, a repair packet may be generated to include length repair data and a repair FEC payload identifier (ID).

    Abstract: Various embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a device and a method for processing point cloud data on the basis of PCC technology in a multimedia system. To this end, a bit stream according to point cloud compression may be generated, and the bit stream may be divided to generate access units by a plurality of type-specific data elements. The plurality of data elements may include at least one layer-specific shape data, at least one layer-specific texture data, auxiliary patch information, and occupancy information. The size of each of the plurality of access units may match a maximum transmission unit in a network.
