The method includes maintaining current state information relating to the user equipment, the state information including at least one state information part associated with features for which state information reporting is configured in at least one cell, at least one state information part being associable with a plurality of different values, receiving an indication from the radio access node regarding state information held by the radio access node relating to the user equipment, determining whether to report current state information relating to the radio access node on the basis of the received indication, and reporting a current value associated with at least a given state information part to the radio access node.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates beyond 4th-generation (4G) communication system such as long term evolution (LTE). Next generation of wireless cellular operation is expected to be deployed in higher frequency above 6 GHz (eg. 10 GHz˜100 GHz, also called mmWave and/or cmWave) due to availability of large amount of spectrum bandwidths. The physical layer of wireless cellular system in both DL and UL operating in mmWave/cmWave would be based on new air-interface different from that of LTE-A air-interface because the radio characteristics is different for mmWave/cmWave bands. The wireless system deployed in mmWave/cmWave system is expected to employ DL beam sweeping on broadcast control information to provide cell coverage to the UE which would result in excessive signaling overhead.
Abstract:

A method for reporting the PHs for carriers used by a terminal in a mobile communication system supporting carrier aggregation includes generating a message including the PHs along with indicators indicating whether a real transmission is scheduled on an uplink data channel of corresponding carrier, and including, when the real transmission is scheduled, a maximum transmission power used for calculating the PHs in the generated message.
Abstract:
A random access method and an apparatus of a terminal for performing random access procedure to multiple base stations in parallel in a Long Term Evolution (LTE) system supporting dual connectivity are provided. The method includes determining whether a first preamble transmission to a first cell of a first base station is overlapped with a second preamble transmission to a second cell of a second base station in a time domain, determining, when the first preamble transmission is overlapped with the second preamble transmission in the time domain, whether a sum of transmit powers calculated for the first and second preamble transmissions is greater than a maximum allowed transmit power of the terminal, and controlling, when the sum of the first and second preamble transmit powers is greater than the maximum allowed transmit power, the transmit power calculated for the second preamble transmission.
Abstract:
The present invention involves defining the operation of a terminal for determining which time alignment timer is to be applied to a certain condition when specific time alignment timers operate for each carrier-wave group in the event a wireless communication system uses a carrier aggregation technique. According to the present invention, a terminal may perform communication without malfunctions using a time alignment timer suitable for a certain condition. In detail, a method for a terminal to operate a time alignment timer according to the present invention comprises the steps of: receiving, from a base station, a message including a timing advance command and an index on a timing advance group (TAG); and operating the time alignment timer for the TAG, wherein the index has a value of 00 when the TAG includes a first cell. In the meantime, a method for a terminal to operate a time alignment timer according to the present invention comprises the steps of: operating a first time alignment timer for a first timing advance group (TAG) including a first cell; operating a second time alignment timer upon receipt of a timing advance command for a second TAG that does not include the first cell; and, if the first time alignment timer has expired, deeming the second time alignment timer to also be expired. In addition, a method for a base station to control a time alignment timer according to the present invention comprises the steps of: determining whether or not an uplink timing of a terminal needs correction; and transmitting a message including a timing advance command and an index on a timing advance group (TAG), wherein the index has a value of 00 when the TAG includes a first cell.
