The method includes arranging symbols mapped to predetermined sub-carrier allocation types such that phases of the symbols do not overlap, and transmitting the arranged symbols.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for generating a parity bit sequence to be transmitted or received over a plurality of frames in a communication system are provided. The method includes puncturing a first parity bit sequence by encoding, the first parity bit sequence with a first puncturing pattern; outputting, as a basic parity bit sequence, non-punctured parity bits that are remaining after the puncturing of the first parity bit sequence with the first puncturing pattern; puncturing a second parity bit sequence that is punctured by puncturing of the first parity bit sequence with the first puncturing pattern, the second parity bit sequence with a second puncturing pattern; and outputting, as an additional parity bit sequence, non-punctured parity bits that are remaining after the puncturing of the second parity bit sequence with the second puncturing pattern.

A wireless communication unit comprising a transmitter and a signal processor are provided. The signal processor is arranged to map service data onto a first set of multiple Physical Layer Pipes (PLPs), map the first set of PLPs onto a first set of logical frames, and form a first logical channel comprising the first set of logical frames. A structure of the logical frames is composed of PLPs of a plurality of different data types.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting data comprising a plurality of data streams in a broadcasting system are provided. The method includes dividing a frame into a plurality of physical layer zones; allocating the plurality of data streams to at least one of the plurality of physical layer zones; allocating signaling information associated with the plurality of physical layers to at least one of the plurality of physical layer zones; and transmitting the frame to which the signaling information is allocated.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for receiving control information in a digital broadcasting/communication system. The method includes receiving signaling information having a fixed number of bits in a coded block of a received frame; and decoding signaling information having a variable number of bits in at least one coded block of the received frame, using the signaling information having the fixed number of bits. The signaling information having the fixed number of bits includes information about a number of Radio Frequency (RF) channels, and the signaling information having the variable number of bits includes information representing a frequency for each of the RF channels, respectively.

Abstract:
A method and an apparatus are provided for receiving signaling information in a digital broadcasting system. The method includes receiving a frame including a first coded block, a second coded block, and at least one physical layer pipe (PLP) data; decoding the first coded block to identify first signaling information for a physical layer; and decoding the second coded block to identify second signaling information. The first signaling information has a fixed number of bits. The second signaling information has a variable number of bits. The first signaling information includes information indicating a forward error correction (FEC) type of the second signaling information for receiving the second signaling information. The second signaling information includes information indicating a modulation scheme used for related PLP data.
