Abstract:
An embodiment of the disclosure displays a plurality of icons for files and a plurality of icons for folders within a graphical user interface. A set of two or more icons can be selected via user input for inclusion within a group object. The group object can be moved within the graphical user interface responsive to user input to within a predetermined range of one of the icons for one of the folders. Responsive to moving, a subset of files of the group object can be determined. Selection of the files within the subset can be based on whether attributes of the folder match attributes of the files. Additionally, responsive to moving the group object, the subset of files can be moved or copied to the one of the folders to which the group object was moved.
Abstract:
Sequentially displaying posts apart from each other on a computer screen, including prompting a user to input a dimension element including one or more of a character, graphic, or symbol on the computer screen; identifying posts containing one or more dimension elements; sequentially displaying the identified posts apart from each other along a first axis; displaying a moveable cursor along the first axis across one or more displayed posts and that indicates only one or more particular posts; moving the cursor according to the user's operation; identifying one or more posts at a position currently indicated by the cursor; identifying one or more additional posts containing one or more dimension elements related to the elements contained in the posts currently indicated by the cursor; and sequentially displaying posts of the one or more additionally identified posts along a second axis.
Abstract:
The present invention discourages effective illegal use of compromised biometric information in biometric authentication and allows biometric authentication to be securely continued even when some biometric information is compromised. A user authentication system compares extracted user features with a previously registered combination of features and authenticates the user on the basis of the result of the comparison. If the authentication is successful, the previously registered combination is replaced with a new combination of features that are registered for use in the subsequent authentication of the authentication object.
Abstract:
A method for delivering an instant message in a server connected to two or more computers via a network is provided. The two or more computers include groupware clients in which a user can perform login at the same time, using the same user ID, and for which status that may be different from each other can be set. Embodiments of the method includes authenticating a user of a groupware client who attempts to perform login using a user ID, recording the user ID and status information in association with an instant messaging user ID, receiving an instant message addressed to the user ID, and determining, on the basis of the status information, which of two or more client computers the instant message is sent to.
Abstract:
An encryption device which enables a client not having an encryption function to easily use a function of encrypted mail without carrying out a management of certification and a key and an encryption and a decryption. When an Internet facsimile machine transmits electronic mail to an encryption device, the encryption device converts the received electronic mail into encrypted mail and transmits to a mail server. When another Internet facsimile machine transmits data including a part to be encrypted and transmission destination information as a main body of mail to an encryption and decryption I/F of the encryption device, the encryption device encrypts the main body of the received mail under a prescribed encryption method and sends back to the other Internet facsimile machine. Accordingly, the other Internet facsimile machine can format encrypted data into encrypted mail and transmit to a remote Internet facsimile machine.
Abstract:
A communication terminal device includes a registered information storage area, an address information acquiring unit, and a display unit. A directory server includes a database which stores address information including a plurality of attributes and item names of the attributes by associating to one another. From the database, the address information acquiring unit acquires the address information retrieved in accordance with the retrieval condition, and the item name. A correspondence table storage area stores a communication method and an item name by associating to one another. A detecting unit refers to the correspondence table storage area with the item name as the key and detects the attribute corresponding to the destination of the communication from the attributes included in the address information acquired by the address information acquiring unit. A display processing unit displays the attribute detected by the detecting unit.
Abstract:
A small-sized, inexpensive optical pickup apparatus can be assembled with high accuracy. The optical pickup apparatus has a various-purpose semiconductor laser, an integrated optical assembly for guiding outgoing light to an optical disk and for separating reflected light, a light receiver for receiving light and converting the received light into an electrical signal, and a coupling member for retaining a positional relationship among the various-purpose semiconductor laser, the integrated optical assembly, and the light receiver. By using a various-purpose semiconductor laser, the optical pickup apparatus can be made in a small size at low cost, and can be accurately assembled. The apparatus is also capable of accurately and efficiently detecting the optical power of the various-purpose semiconductor laser.
Abstract:
A photon beam generating apparatus comprises an incident pump beam generation section 1 and a photon pair generation section including a non-linear optical medium 3. The angle between the optical axis of the medium 3 and an incident pump beam is set to a value such that tuning curves become tangent to a line corresponding to a wavelength a in order to generate two photon beams including paired photons generated simultaneously and having a wavelength a. Another photon beam generating apparatus comprises an incident pump beam generation section 1 and a photon pair generation section including a non-linear optical medium 3. The angle between the optical axis of the medium 3 and the incident pump beam is set to a value such that tuning curves become tangent to different lines corresponding to wavelengths a and b respectively, in order to generate two photon beams including paired photons generated simultaneously and having wavelengths a and b respectively.
Abstract:
An image scanner arrangement having a scanner, a document feeder scanning portion and a flat scanning bed. A single white plate is provided between the document feeder scanning portion and flat bed. Before scanning, the scanner scans the white plate to provide image data for testing. If this image data contains white pixels not less than 90%, a controller determines that a lamp of a light source of the scanner illuminates appropriately. After confirming that the light source is in a good condition, the scanning starts. The single white plate is utilized regardless of scanning being performed with the document feeder scanning portion or the flat scanning bed.
Abstract:
In an optical pickup, light, emitted from a light-emitting element, is transmitted through a first beam splitter film with polarization selectivity, and a zero-order diffraction beam and two (.+-.) first order diffraction beams are produced. These beams are applied in a condensed manner to an optical disk through a condensing element, and the return light beam from the optical disk is fed to a photodetector through a second beam splitter film with polarization selectivity, thereby effecting the recording and reproduction of information, the tracking and the focusing. A diffusion angle conversion hologram is provided between the light-emitting element and the first beam splitter film, and with respect to the diffusion angle conversion hologram, the relation between the diffusion angle of the incident beam and the diffusion angle of the outgoing beam is specified. With this arrangement, the light to be incident on the condensing element can have an ideal spherical wave free from a wave aberration, so that an image spot on the optical disk can be condensed into a diffraction limit, and besides by correcting the phase of the beam, a RF signal with a high C/N ratio, a stable focus error signal and a stable track signal are detected.
