    Abstract: A wireless communication apparatus is provided that performs wireless communication using a specified wireless channel and forms part of an ad hoc wireless network. The device includes a recording portion that records country ID information and recording-time information in to a storage medium, where the recording-time information indicates the time at which the country ID information was recorded in to the storage medium, a time determination portion that uses the recording-time information to determine whether a predetermined time period has elapsed from the time at which the country ID information was recorded, and a channel setting portion that, when the predetermined time period has not elapsed from the time at which the country ID information was recorded in the storage medium, sets a wireless channel to a frequency channel that can be used in the country indicated by the country ID information recorded in the storage medium.

    Abstract: A communication apparatus is provided, and the communication apparatus includes a control unit that performs control to: generate channel information relating to transmittable frequency channels of data, and bandwidth information relating to a bandwidth of a frequency to be used to transmit the data; transmit a request signal to another communication apparatus, by using a frequency channel that has been selected from the transmittable frequency channels, the request signal including the channel information and the bandwidth information that have been generated; and transmit the data to the other communication apparatus, by using frequency channels that have been selected as receivable frequency channels by the other communication apparatus.     Abstract: To provide a communication apparatus which controls channel access operation under a multi user environment, and a communication method.
    Channel access operation of each STA after an MU mode is finished is controlled through a trigger frame from an AP to prevent collision immediately after the MU mode is finished. Further, the AP sets a smaller CW upon transmission of the trigger frame than a CW of an STA to preferentially transmit the trigger frame and give priority to communication in the MU mode over communication in an SU mode. Further, by the CW of each STA upon switching of the mode being not reset, a transmission waiting period after the MU mode is finished is shortened.

The control unit controls transmission of an inducement frame for causing another communication device to transmit a transmission suppression period reduction frame for reducing a transmission suppression period. In addition, the control unit controls transmission of the transmission suppression period reduction frame on the basis of the inducement frame in a case where the control unit receives the inducement frame. Transmission suppression periods set in other information processing apparatuses are equally reduced to eliminate inequality in using wireless resources.
