摘要： Apparatus and method for measuring an SINR in a mobile communication system using preambles. Calculated are an average noise power using a CP of an RX signal, a signal power of a serving segment, an average power of the serving segment, and an interference power of the serving segment, an average power of each interference segment, and an interference power of each interference segment using the difference between the calculated average noise power and the calculated average power. An SINR of the RX signal is calculated by dividing the calculated signal power of the serving segment by the sum of the calculated average noise power and the total interference power of all the segments.

摘要： An Iterafive Detection and Decoding (IDD) receiving apparatus and method in a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) communication system. The IDD receiving apparatus includes an MIMO detector which generates soft decision values of coded bits by MIMO-decoding a receive vector, feedback priori information, and a list of candidate coded symbol vectors; a decoder which Soft-Input/Soft-Output (SISO)-decodes the soft decision values generated at the MIMO detector and feeds back soft decision values of the coded bits to the MIMO detector; a hard decision part which generates a coded symbol vector by performing a hard decision on the soft decision values generated at the decoder; and a list updater which generates a list of candidate coded symbol vectors using the receive vector and provides the list to the MIMO detector at a first iteration, updates the list using the coded symbol vector fed from the hard decision part, and provides the updated list to the MIMO detector at subsequent iterations.

摘要： An apparatus and method for minimizing inter-signal interference in a wireless communication system are provided. The polarization phases of Mobile Stations (MSs) are measured. An MS group including a predetermined number of MSs is determined and a polarization phase of the MS group is compensated. The polarization phase of a transmission signal is matched to the compensated polarization phase and the matched signal is sent to the MS group.

Adjacent cells are searched and the RX power strengths of the adjacent cells are measured. Cells with RX power strengths greater than a predetermined value are selected among the adjacent cells. Two cells are selected among the selected cells and the FAs and RX power strengths of the two cells are compared. If the two cells have adjacent FAs and/or similar RX power strengths, the two cell are selected to perform communication. The apparatus and method simultaneously receives data signals from two cells with adjacent FAs in a cellular environment with a frequency reuse factor of N, by sharing the adjacent FAs.

摘要： Provided are an apparatus and a method for performing a handoff in a broadband cellular communication system with a frequency reuse factor of N by using both of two neighboring frequency allocations. The method includes determining, if a mobile station receives a signal from a second base station during communication with a second base station, whether frequency allocations of the two base stations are adjacent to each other, measuring and comparing signal strengths of the two base stations if the frequency allocations are adjacent to each other, sending a handoff request to the first base station if the signal strength of the first base station is less than or equal to the signal strength of the second base station, and simultaneously receiving signals of the two frequency allocations by simultaneously allocating portions of the frequency allocations to the mobile station according to the handoff request.
