Abstract:
A method for producing a stabilized polymer drag reducing agent slurry comprising combining a fatty acid wax and a liquid carrier to form a dispersion; pre-treating the dispersion by heating to partially dissolve the fatty acid wax in the liquid carrier; and adding the polymer drag reducing agent thereto, to form a stabilized polymer drag reducing agent slurry. The resulting slurry is relatively stable against settling, separation and agglomeration.
Abstract:
A workload characterization system characterizes an exemplary business intelligence workload for use in sizing a hardware configuration required by a new database system running a similar business intelligence workload. The workload characterization system uses performance-oriented measurements to characterize an exemplary workload in terms of resource usage and performance metrics. The workload characterization system applies unsupervised data mining techniques to group individual business intelligence queries into general classes of queries based on system resource usage, providing insight into the resource demands of queries typical of a business intelligence workload. The general classes of queries are used to define an anticipated workload for a planned database system and to help identify the hardware required for the planned database system.

Abstract:
A method of preparing a metal oxide which is dispersible in organic matrices such as apolar organic liquids wherein a product mixture is formed by adding sol of the metal oxide to an aqueous suspension of a sulfonic acid modifier, the modified metal oxide being recovered from the product mixture
Abstract:
The invention relates to bifunctional tryptase inhibitors of formula (I) wherein H1 and H2 comprise a Q group and L is a linker of formula and the conformation of the H1, H2 and L groups is such that the groups are separated by a distance of from 20 to 45 Å. Pharmaceutical compositions and crystal forms of the compounds are described in addition to methods for producing and identifying such compounds, as well as the use of such compounds in methods of treating allergic and inflammatory diseases.
Abstract:
A reeling machine for winding a web, in particular a paper or cardboard web, for the formation of a wound web roll on a reel-spool, with a reeling drum, which forms a winding nip with the wound web roll and with at least one separating mechanism, which separates the web in a separating area. In the reeling machine, the separating mechanism is advanced before the separating process--as seen in vertical direction--from above to the separating area, which lies at a short distance to the outer periphery of the new reel-spool and/or--as seen in run direction of the web--to the winding nip between the reeling drum and the new reel-spool.
