摘要: A subset of markup elements used in an electronically published document can be defined as being, "significant." For example, all titled elements may be called significant elements. The structure of the document defined by only the significant elements can be determined in the same manner as the structure of the document defined by all markup elements. For example titled elements define a table of contents. A first representation of the document structure defined by all of the markup elements may be used in combination with a second representation of the document structure defined by only the significant elements to control selection of portions of the document such that previous and subsequent portions can be selected and rendered in a consistent and intuitive manner. In particular, given a selected leaf element in the second representation, elements adjacent to the selected leaf element may be selected and rendered according to a relationship of these elements, as defined in the first representation, to both the selected leaf element and to other significant elements in the second representation.

摘要: An electronic checkbook (10) is provided for printing checks. electronic checkbook (10) is of a hand-held size and operates on two AAA batteries. An on/off switch (30) which includes a needle valve (410) controls ink flow. A print cap switch (26) is also provided for rugged applications. Checks are advanced under a printhead (38). The printhead (38) and a roller shaft (46) for advancing the checks are both driven by a single motor (56). A transmission (54) translates power from the motor (56) to the printhead (38) and the roller shaft (46). The position of both the motor (56) and the printhead (38) are sensed by use of a single LED (124) and photodetector (128). Ink is supplied to the printhead (38) from an ink cartridge (12). Data is stored in a non-volatile check register (16). Reconciliation of transactional information can be made by reference to information stored on a statement strip (20).

摘要: Apparatus for converting high pressure, low volume air to low pressure, high volume filtered air in order to successfully atomize fluids, such as paint, of various viscosities. The invention makes it possible to utilize safe, economical compressor air to atomize fluids by a portable enclosure including a variable jet venturi induction pump which separates the pump from the area of application and other potentially contaminating elements. Ambient air is introduced into the portable enclosure after regulation and filtration. A low pressure field is established in the induction pump by increasing the velocity of the compressor air in a venturi section of the pump but is free of contaminates generated, for example, by overspray in the vicinity of the area of application.

摘要: A wood chip rechipping method and apparatus are provided wherein a slotted, cylindrical drum rotates about a concentrically mounted rotatable anvil rotor having a plurality of arms, each of which has a blade at its outer extremity. The drum and anvil rotor arms rotate in the same direction, but at different speeds. The rotating apparatus induces centrifugal force on the wood chips to position them against the inner periphery of the drum where the blades on the relatively faster rotating anvil arms shear off a chip slice having a predetermined thickness. This shearing action continues until each chip has been rechipped into slices capable of passing through one of the drum knife slots and into the discharge outlet.

摘要: A pneumatic material separator having adjacent generally vertical sorting ducts and a generally vertical discharge duct communicating with the tops of the sorting ducts is disclosed. Particulate material introduced into a first sorting duct is separated by an upwardly moving column of gas into an upwardly moving lighter fraction and a downwardly moving heavy fraction. The light fraction is carried to a position over a second sorting duct where the gas velocity is reduced. The heaviest particles of the lighter fraction fall into the second sorting duct while the remainder of the lighter fraction is discharged through the discharge duct.

摘要: A hair dryer support device. The hair dryer support device includes a base member that holds a vertical support rod in a vertical position. A bracket is attached to the vertical support rod opposite of the base member. The height of the vertical support rod is changeable by multiple vertical support members. The bracket includes a flexible member attached to the vertical support rod. The flexible member has a pair of circular support members to accommodate a hair dryer. The position of the hair dryer is changeable by movement of the flexible member.

摘要: An attachment to be employed with any spray device is disclosed. The attachment includes four vanes which are radially attached to an air hub with a central aperture, the central aperture adapted to receive the front portion of the spray device therethrough which when activated dispenses an atomizable substance in a pattern toward a workpiece. At the distal end of each of the four vanes, the vane is angled forward such that it generally points toward the workpiece. At the terminal end of each vane is a plurality of compressed air exit apertures. A compressed air source is attached to the air hub which guides the air through air conduits interiorly disposed within each of the vanes, where the compressed air is forced to exit each of the compressed air exit apertures forming an a second pattern which surrounds the atomizable substance pattern, and further boosts or pushes the atomizable substance onto the workpiece. The second pattern reduces overspray, bounce-back, and errant particles, and improves the transfer efficiency of the substance to the workpiece.
